Queensberry vs Matchroom

Post by Glass Joe »

Not sure why FW lot posted this, they pretty much don't talk to each other and do deals unless its a mandatory fight. Maybe BT sports viewing figures are so poor they are trying to build up hype. :OhYes: :OhYes: There's more chance of Audley Harrison making a comeback and becoming undisputed champion than 10% of this card coming off . :KO: :KO:

Dubois vs Whyte
Yarde vs Buatsi
Joyce vs Chis
Williams vs Andrade
Edwards vs Yafai
Gorman vs Allen
Sheeraz vs Cheeseman
Sharp vs Barrett
Jenkins vs Benn (lol didnt fwank reject that already)

What do yall reckon the overall tally is if all these fought?

He posted it for desperate promotion because he's clearly broke

He wouldn’t make Jenkins v Benn when Jenkins own team were desperate to take the fight.

Andy Ayling trying to shop Matchroom to Brentwood council to stop fight camp - I don’t see much happening between either side.

Last ditch attempt by fish eyes to prevent going bust. I hope eddie brushes it off and we see no more of the con.

As for andy ayling hes a scum bag. I remember he was messaging when making the rematch with zelfa, boasting about if ronnie didnt do what he says then he would not get fights and be able to feed his kids. See guys like that they should be made to say these things face to face.

No doubt frank wants a nice even split on it too, soon to be seen on an interview saying, "we aint scared we got it all signed problems not on our side but eddie ,.... bla bla." .... yet matchroom have the bigger name fighter on every fight except Yard vs buatsi and Edwards vs Yafai, And those fights arnt the money makers....

I think FW has had to some crisis meetings with BT - they won’t be at all happy if the viewing figures of his post lockdown shows are to be believed.

Hearn’s been whoring himself out all over the place for his garden shows and it was a really good show with decent (by no means exceptional) viewing figures.

FW coming out with this will give him publicity but there’s no way Hearn will want to do it or needs to do it. FW has had the chance to do a couple of these fights already (recently rejected by all accounts decent deals for Jenkins to fight Benn) but hasn’t. He also mentions these are deals for 2020 - does that mean that Joyce vs Dubois is no longer happening?

Looks like a bit of cheap publicity from FW here.

Pretty sure the Andy Ayling thing will be the final nail in the coffin for relations between the two parties. I seem to remember Hearn saying in the past that he Ayling was his point of contact whenever he dealt with Queensbury.

Shame, as there are some good potential fights on that list.

Some good fights could be made here. The sport would do itself a favour if it became more about the fights and less about the promoters.

I think Boxing News are doing something this week about a potential Eddie and Frank collaboration.

However, as others have said, I don't see it happening particularly with Ayling's recent grassing up of David Diamante.

On paper it makes complete sense but we all know that it wont happen. Shame, but its only the casual fans that will be getting exciting about this. Any true boxing fan will take this recent promotional letter from Fwank with a pinch of salt.

I’d worry about Dubois v Joyce if I were Frank.

Sam Jones seems to alude there ain’t no options holding Joyce down to Queensbury if Joyce wins.

Most of those fights would be their own headline fight..

I’m going to get hammered for this.... bit I believe Fury would have the crowd now against AJ.
A few years ago, no chance.

Imagine Joyce flattening Dubois and announcing he's signing for Matchroom the same night.

I don’t think the crowd will be 100% behind Fury but I think he’ll have the majority now.

Fury’s done an amazing job in coming back in the ring and from a self promotion point of view.

If they both fought no hopers on separate PPVs though I’d bet that Joshua would sell more in the U.K. due to the publicity machine behind him.

Would be quite entertaining with some decent match ups from each stable but in reality we all know there's no chance. FW looking for a bit of the limelight.

Since he had the BT contract he’s put awful content on. Like his SKY monopoly years ago.
I can imagine BT aren’t happy hence the reason for this publicity stunt (which is what it is)

If I was a boxing fan who didn’t have BT I don’t think he’s put on a single show that made me think I better subscribe to watch that.

Its embaressing the difference between the 2. Fish eyes used to try insult eddie calling him new age promoter, that's the issue he has no clue how to promote.

A very simple two line response would be

Ok Conor Benn v Chris Jenkins.

Talk to me.

He did ok with Benn-McClellan, Barrera-Morales, Hatton-Kostya, Frank Sinatra!

None of which have taken place in the last 15 years.

FW was a good promoter - he isn’t anymore.

Chisora v Joyce could very well happen as it is a fight that you can see Chisora taking

Edwards v Yafai, the fight is going to happen anyway at some point. Just wait for the crowds to come back. Edwards left Hearn (If its good terms, the fight is inevitable )

Andrade v Williams - Williams is mandatory for the WBO, the fight will be there but both sides are looking elsewhere.

Other than those three fights, the others might not happen.
