Inexperienced?
Hopey Price has had this as a full time job since a child.
They said it about Josh Taylor as well.
Do they not watch amateurs? Or just con the casuals.

Did Hopey ever box as a senior
I 'hope' we don't have to call him pillows price
Looks fast and skillful though
Height is funny, boxrec has him at a very specific 5'8.5 but sky threw up 6 feet lol

Reminds me of the fast tracking thread....some places sure have more of a fast track culture than others. some places these dudes treated like they have to start boxing from scratch and then be matched weak to start. just 'get the rounds in', 'take a run out', etc.

Hope won everything as a. Junior, Europeans, Junior Olympics....
I’ve seen him sparring with decent pros when he was 14. His brother is coming next.

Do you think Hopey has pillow hands Mickster? I wonder because I 've been impressed with everything else he does, but gives a cant crack egg vibe. Though guys his age often come into some more power later.
If he is really 6'0 at his weight, like 124 just a couple fights ago, that's a bit freaky

He can punch a bit, but is heavily immersed in the amateur game. And he is young. He might not be 6’0’ but a lot bigger than 5’8. He will school almost anyone now.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑08 Aug 2020, 14:41 Do you think Hopey has pillow hands Mickster? Tricky when you turn pro and your basically a child. Like there are 18 year old men, mike Tyson for example. and there are 18 year olds that still have to grow taller another few years then have to get use to that Hieght and fill out. So yea he has tons of boxing experience toatal, but still has to keep learning as his body changes and his opponents change.
Let’s say hopy is a 122lb now at 20, what will he be in 5 years, or 10 years?
Ps I don’t think he is 6 foot...

Kid clearly has talent, his opponent was strong and aggressive last night but price didn't allow himself to be bullied and kept on top of him throughout.
It looks like it will take him a while to shake off his ameteur style, which is understandable given how long he has been doing it.
He may not be a massive banger, but that isn't the be all and end all, landing sharp accurate shots regularly is more important.

Don't have to be a masive ko artist ,, but if you don't have a good dig on you , the pro's is the wrong game , you have to be able to command respect or your gonna wear to many sooner or laterkeirw wrote: ↑09 Aug 2020, 09:09 Kid clearly has talent, his opponent was strong and aggressive last night but price didn't allow himself to be bullied and kept on top of him throughout.

Yeah, having a bit of pop can help. He is still a kid so it is hard to say how much power he will develop as he fills out.coneye wrote: ↑10 Aug 2020, 07:57Don't have to be a masive ko artist ,, but if you don't have a good dig on you , the pro's is the wrong game , you have to be able to command respect or your gonna wear to many sooner or laterkeirw wrote: ↑09 Aug 2020, 09:09 Kid clearly has talent, his opponent was strong and aggressive last night but price didn't allow himself to be bullied and kept on top of him throughout.

The advantage to not being a huge banger at this stage of his career is that he will master the art of winning rounds and develop his fitness as he will be going the distance alot.
Too often we see exciting banger fall to pieces later in their career when they step up as they have been neglecting basic fundamentals in their early career.

Re: Inexperienced?
And in fairness , not just him but a lot of the ameteurs nowadays , have to learn to get that pop in the punch , the whole ameteur scene now , steers away from punchers , from the scoring to the gloves its all designed for points , not Ko'smickey1975 wrote: ↑10 Aug 2020, 10:59He already has all the skill.keirw wrote: ↑10 Aug 2020, 08:28Yeah, having a bit of pop can help.
