What do you think about Women's Boxing?
Re: Why are we being punished with women's boxing
All women's boxing looks like this:
Re: Why are we being punished with women's boxing
We need to ped them up and give them a massive dose of testosterone, that way we might see a few knockouts
Re: Why are we being punished with women's boxing
Great fight! I scored it a draw.

lol who changed the thread title, go suck a popsicle and have a socially distanced handholding party you snowflake , then have a long critical think about whether those actions are rooted in patriarchy and colonization , and flog yourself with guilty tears in your eyes if you conclude they are
ya bruh, at least if there is gonna be a total mismatch it's over quick, we need more big kos in womens boxing, too bad it's so rare when the 'top' women or 'hot' prospects actually fight each other, instead needing matches where the one woman (in this case a 42 year old who never beat a winning opponent) looks like she's never boxed
fastest ko ever there in womens boxing, never been anything like it before, only 1 in history bois

Re: What do you think about Women's Boxing?
To be honest, I'm still yet to be convinced.
I like Katie Taylor, she's looks good & she's been in some good contests, but I just don't think the quality is there overall.
Shields is also good, but she's so much better than the women she fights that the fights are not intriguing enough,
There's definitely a market for it & with more & more ladies taking up the sport, the quality will improve.

Can you please share the research/statistics behind this? I'd be very interested to read it!Enlightened-One wrote: ↑22 Jul 2020, 03:59 The two minute round rule isn't the fault of the competitors. And this is the main culprit preventing stoppages.

Each to their own, but I'm not particularly keen on it.

Who changed the thread title gil bruh?gilgamesh wrote: ↑22 Jul 2020, 16:42 I can't get into Women's Boxing either. Even Claressa Shields who is probably the biggest female boxer going at the minute (Or Braekhus) I barely care or notice when they got something going on.
If that makes me a sexist. I don't care.
I prefer to see some drama, and some damage done when I'm watching a fight. With Women's Boxing you rarely see anything that indicates a fight is taking place.

It would've had to have been a moderator that made the decision to change it.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑29 Jul 2020, 12:21Change it backto 'Why are we being punished with women's boxing' bruh, please my man
I'll just leave it.
Though personally I wasn't offended by the original title because I agree that Women's Boxing sucks 98% of the time.

Re: What do you think about Women's Boxing?
Women turn certain men into sensitive widdle snowflakes don't they
Re: What do you think about Women's Boxing?
They need 3 minute rounds and 12 round title fights. Still better than MMA as it is.
Re: What do you think about Women's Boxing?
It’s rare to see proper quality matches of interest although the women are generally getting better, the Taylor fight when most thought she had lost was a good watch, on another note I don’t watch MMA at all but checked out that recent women’s fight where they both fcuked each other up and that was good

I'm pretty sure more than 50 % of stoppages happen in the last minute of a round.punchoutsb wrote: ↑29 Jul 2020, 11:55Can you please share the research/statistics behind this? Part of a different conversation, but also an interesting statement. Where does the more than 50% number come from?IKSRTFO wrote: ↑29 Jul 2020, 21:24I'm pretty sure more than 50 % of stoppages happen in the last minute of a round.punchoutsb wrote: ↑29 Jul 2020, 11:55Can you please share the research/statistics behind this? Re: What do you think about Women's Boxing?
Funny enough the format where I see non-ko guys get a disporportionate amount of stoppages is the 3 round 1 night tournament one.....cause they just go all out cause the fight is so short, which means more openings and more aggresiion
How about women's boxing tries some 3 x 3s

Re: Why are we being punished with women's boxing
Might even be higher. Just watch enough fights. Unless the boxer is a 1 punch KO artist, normally, they happen at the end of the round as fatigue also plays a part in being open to a stoppage.punchoutsb wrote: ↑29 Jul 2020, 21:47Part of a different conversation, but also an interesting statement. Re: Why are we being punished with women's boxing
Well the main problem with that statement is that there are a LOT of fights. There's almost 2.5 million bouts recorded on boxrec. It's pretty hard to say the fights you've watched represent the entire sport across the entire world across every weight class...IKSRTFO wrote: ↑29 Jul 2020, 22:14Might even be higher. Re: Why are we being punished with women's boxing
I stand by my statement. That last minute of every round would've robbed us of some crazy stoppages. Castillo Corrales, Pacquaio Hatton, Mayweather Corrales, and Pacquiao Marquez IV all happened in the last minute of a round. That would take away most of Floyd Mayweather's stoppages.punchoutsb wrote: ↑29 Jul 2020, 22:29Well the main problem with that statement is that there are a LOT of fights. Right so that's put us up to 30 stoppages...IKSRTFO wrote: ↑30 Jul 2020, 09:34I stand by my statement. That last minute of every round would've robbed us of some crazy stoppages. It's all good, I'm not trying to start an argument with you and I'm definitely not saying you're wrong. I was just curious if there were any statistics that proved this. I'm quarantined from work and a little bored.

Like the WNBA ad says...basketball is basketball! And that's how I feel about women's boxing as well.
I love them, respect them and celebrate them for the warriors they are!
