So he might be cutting quite a bit to get to 168. A move to 175 is probably in his future.

Does PBC even have a lot of fights for him at 168? Aren't Jacobs, Smith, and BJS all on DAZN now? Plant is the only big fight they can make for him. God I hope they don't get the idea that fight should be a PPV.
At 175 he could fight Browne or Pascal or Jack at the very least.

DAZN works with PBC fighters regularly.Cent0089 wrote: ↑15 Aug 2020, 12:49Hmm truejujigatame wrote: ↑15 Aug 2020, 12:42 Does PBC even have a lot of fights for him at 168? Matchroom and Haymon are on good terms.

If that's the case I'd love to see Benavidez vs. BJS. But I'm not holding my breath.
Re: David Benavidez vs. Roamer Alexis Angulo - August 15, 2020
Benavidez - Smith or Benavidez - Ryder is more interesting to me :)Enlightened-One wrote: ↑15 Aug 2020, 14:10DAZN works with PBC fighters regularly.Cent0089 wrote: ↑15 Aug 2020, 12:49Hmm truejujigatame wrote: ↑15 Aug 2020, 12:42 Does PBC even have a lot of fights for him at 168? Full Card (SHO, 9:00 pm ET)
Vacant WBC World Super Middleweight Championship - Title remains vacant if Benavidez wins
David Benavidez (22-0, 19 KOs) vs. Roamer Alexis Angulo (26-1, 22 KOs)
Interim WBA World Lightweight Championship
Rolando Romero (11-0, 10 KOs) vs. Jackson Marinez (19-0, 7 KOs)
10 Round Heavyweight Contest
Otto Wallin (20-1, 13 KOs) vs. Travis Kauffman (32-3, 23 KOs)
Re: David Benavidez vs. Roamer Alexis Angulo - August 15, 2020
Otto Wallin vs Travis Kauffman to open up the show. Surprised this is the opener. Seems like a more significant bout than the Co-Feature, but whatever.
Kauffman claims he'll retire if he loses 2 in a row, which would be the case if he loses tonight. Wallin of course gave Tyson Fury a pretty good scrap a while back.
Decent bout between fringe contenders. Keeps the winner in the Top 20 somewhere.

Re: David Benavidez vs. Roamer Alexis Angulo - August 15, 2020
Kauffman landing some tentative body shots. Wallin landing some jabs. No real big shots in that 1st round. I thought Wallin edged it though, as he mixed in a few body shots as well with his jab.
1-0 Wallin
1-0 Wallin

Neither of these guys are even close to top 20. Wallin might be borderline top 50. Kauffman is a journeyman. This is really low level stuff and would never been on Showtime Championship Boxing a decade ago.
At least Romero and Marinez are good undefeated prospects and that fight would have made a good ShoBox main event.

Wallin is top 50 easy, don't overestimate the division's depth, agree though, that other fight is better for sure
Re: David Benavidez vs. Roamer Alexis Angulo - August 15, 2020
Wallin pretty much dominates the fight. Outjabs Kauffman throughout the bout. Lands more and more body shots. Kauffman looking noticeably fatigued, and toward the end appeared to have injured his shoulder. Or left arm in some sorta way, and was stopped shortly thereafter.
TKO 5 Otto Wallin

I mean Wallin did better against Tyson Fury than Wilder did last time outjujigatame wrote: ↑15 Aug 2020, 21:38 Neither of these guys are even close to top 20. Wallin might be borderline top 50. Maybe he is and maybe he isn't. He's never beaten anyone even remotely decent.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑15 Aug 2020, 21:39 Wallin is top 50 easy, don't overestimate the division's depth, agree though, that other fight is better for sure

He gave the clear #1 guy one of his toughest in years, that is more impressive than accumulating wins over hand picked 3rd and 4th rate opposition to just get some ranking on attritionjujigatame wrote: ↑15 Aug 2020, 21:45Maybe he is and maybe he isn't. Surely giving the World Heavyweight Champion a respectable challenge is worth something. He cut him up, and took a couple rounds from him. Maybe 3. Certainly 2.jujigatame wrote: ↑15 Aug 2020, 21:45Maybe he is and maybe he isn't. up to 4 rounds and cut him and then hurt him the last round. These days that type of fight vs the #1 guy makes you a top 50 hw easy. Way more significant than say beating some #60 dudes (who have only beeat #90 dude) that will push your ranking upgilgamesh wrote: ↑15 Aug 2020, 21:46Surely giving the World Heavyweight Champion a respectable challenge is worth something. I remember seeing a clip of Rolly bloodying and ragdolling King Ry Ry in sparring, let's see what he brings here

Rolly might get that bomb in eventually but he's being too obvious with it. Needs to feint more, jab more, be more subtle in setting it up

I dunno I hesitate to give someone too much credit for a clear loss. Cuts are generally freak occurrences and I think that fight flattered Wallin quite a bit.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑15 Aug 2020, 21:48up to 4 rounds and cut him and then hurt him the last round.
