Would politely disagree. Not a case of not turning up and getting mojo back, just simply wasn't world level, despite an exciting KO-focused approach. We talk a lot about how todays' fighters are given easy routes to world titles, but in 1992 the WBO title was very lightly regarded and Galloway already had 11 losses - need to put things in perspective here. Loved Barrett, but he was Euro level (no shame in that), rather than world class, as proven by his subsequent loss to Del Bryan.
Have to agree. Galloway was the weakest champion out there and was considered an ideal oppo' for the crowd friendly
Barrett to snaffle a world title. We reckoned it might be messy due to Galloway's spoiler approach but Pat would at some time in the fight, find the big shot. Not to disparage Barrett who was great entertainment, but he was found wanting
stepping up.

It wasn’t that unusual in 90s Manchester.
