By Chris Williams: Terence Crawford’s trainer Brian McIntyre revealed on social media on Wednesday that Keith Thurman is demanding “$10 million” to challenge ‘Bud’ for his WBO welterweight title.
Thurman (29-1, 22 KOs) was serious when he said this week that he wants Crawford to “send the contract” so that he can sign it live on Instagram.
What Thurman didn’t say is he wanted Adrien Broner-type money in requesting a cool $10 million for the fight with Crawford.
Thurman got a big payday in his last fight against Manny Pacquiao, so it’s not surprising that he wants equal cash for a match against Terence.
It’s the trainer BoMac that’s saying that Thurman, 31, wants $10 million. Maybe he’d be willing to agree to less than that amount, but anything is possible.
Thurman is a big star, and he’d be the one that would single-handedly be driving the pay-per-view sales in a fight against the reserved Crawford, who isn’t a great talker.
At least if Crawford fights Thurman now, he has a good chance of beating him given his injuries and how mentally disengaged he is at this point in his 13-year pro career.
“See, if he [Thurman] wanted to fight, he’d have Al [Haymon] send the contract [to Top Rank] with a boatload of money, but guess what? He doesn’t have a promoter to put up the money because Al Haymon isn’t putting up s***.
“Now all you people talking s*** about Bud not fighting Thurman, sit down somewhere. Crawford haters are mad,” said BoMac on social media.

I don't believe BoMac's caims. We need to hear Thurman's side of the story before making judgment.
Thurman only earned $2.5m for the Pacquiao bout.
Perhaps BoMac is telling lies to protect the reputation of his fighter, because Top Rank has recently declared their disinterest in staging bouts against Porter and Thurman.

Well, unless Thurman or his team respond to deny what BoMac's saying, it's the only thing we can go off. So until someone else speaks, i'm going with this. That's just me though.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑20 Aug 2020, 06:52 I don't believe BoMac's caims. We need to hear Thurman's side of the story before making judgment.

Also, Thurman's guaranteed was $2.5m .. yes.. After ppv revenue, he came out with closer to $8m..

10 million is so outrageous i dont even believe his team asked for it. Thurman isnt a star, he is/was a great boxer, but never a star outside of that. Without a belt, coming of a loss, in a pandemic, Id be suprised if he is worth more than a million dollars at this point...

They might have said $10 after revenue if PPV is an option..gregregegg wrote: ↑20 Aug 2020, 07:43 10 million is so outrageous i dont even believe his team asked for it. I get what you're saying, but the PBC guys rarely discuss contractual details.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑20 Aug 2020, 07:11Well, unless Thurman or his team respond to deny what BoMac's saying, it's the only thing we can go off. And as we all know, Bob Arum constantly makes claims about Al Haymon and the PBC, but they're rarely responded to.
Personally-speaking, because of the constantly maintained Al Haymon radio silence, I'm going to be sceptical and take BoMac's claims with several pinches of salt.

I don't know understand why we as fans need to know and discuss every little thing about a fight. Thurman wants this much money...so the f*ck what?
Wake me up when they're fighting.
