Re: Regis Prograis has Signed with PBC
I really like Prograis. His fight with Taylor was probably (imho) the Fight of the Year. High skill level from both but it just seemed to be Taylor's immense will to win that finally separated them both. Prograis also came over really well before and, more tellingly, after the fight. Nothing negative. I think he won over a few UK fans based on that.

This is somewhat unfortunate. Who is under the PBC banner at 140? Robert Easter?

Re: Regis Prograis has Signed with PBC
During December 2019, Bob Arum mentioned that (due to the political situation between Top Rank & the PBC), he was planning to pit big-name 140lb-ers, like Jose Ramirez, Josh Taylor and Regis Prograis, against Terence Crawford at welterweight.
Now that Prograis has jumped ship to the PBC, I wonder if Top Rank stablemates Ramirez and Taylor are regretting their decisions to recently sign deals with Top Rank (due to diminishing payday opportunities).

Re: Regis Prograis has Signed with PBC
Two guys who were supposed to fight each other on DAZN are now signed with PBC. DAZN is falling apart. I'm not a DAZN hater it's just becoming more and more apparent.

Re: Regis Prograis has Signed with PBC
I'm not sure I understand your point. TR has a lot more talent at 140 than PBC. Maybe if they do Taylor/Ramirez the winner will move up and fight Crawford, but that's probably at least a year away and until then if anyone struggles to find big name opponents without being forced up to 147 it will be Prograis.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑21 Aug 2020, 12:44 During December 2019, Bob Arum mentioned that (due to the political situation between Top Rank & the PBC), he was planning to pit big-name 140lb-ers, like Jose Ramirez, Josh Taylor and Regis Prograis, against Terence Crawford at welterweight.

Re: Regis Prograis has Signed with PBC
Moving to 147 seems like wise decision to me. Josh Taylor and Jose Ramirez are probably on the colision course under DAZN and there is no one left for Prograis in that weight. He was supposed to fight Maurice Hooker who is now also with PBC and moved to 147. Win over Hooker would open door for top dogs in 147

Re: Regis Prograis has Signed with PBC
Last I read he wasn't interested in moving up to 147, which was part of why the Hooker fight fell apart. I don't think he's very big for the division as is.Cent0089 wrote: ↑21 Aug 2020, 15:24 Moving to 147 seems like wise decision to me. Re: Regis Prograis has Signed with PBC
Taylor, Ramirez, and Pedraza are TR.
Baranchyk and Zepeda aren't listed on the TR website as TR fighters, but they are apparently going to fight each other on a TR-promoted card. I think Postol is in a similar situation since he's going to fight Ramirez on a TR card as well.
Easter and Barrios are PBC.
I think Flanagan is with Fwank Warren, at least he was as of a couple years ago.

Re: Regis Prograis has Signed with PBC
Former junior welterweight world titlist Regis Prograis, who last week worked out a separation agreement from promoter Lou DiBella and became a free agent, will have his next fight under the Premier Boxing Champions banner, multiple sources told Boxing Scene on Friday.
Under what the sources said was a one-fight deal, Prograis will face unbeaten Juan Heraldez in a 10-round junior welterweight fight on Oct. 24 at the Mohegan Sun resort in Uncasville, Connecticut. The bout will be part of the Showtime PPV card headlined by the lightweight and junior lightweight title fight between Gervonta Davis and Leo Santa Cruz.
The news was first reported by Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated.
Heraldez (16-0-1, 10 KOs), 30, a Northridge, California, native, will be taking a major step up in the level of his competition. He is coming off a majority draw with former junior lightweight titlist Argenis Mendez in May 2019 on the Deontay Wilder-Dominic Breazeale undercard at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Prograis had one fight left on his promotional deal with DiBella but they amicably agreed to a buyout of DiBella’s last bout, which was to have been the April fight with fellow former titlist Maurice Hooker before that fight was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic and then not rescheduled when Hooker wanted to increase the weight to 145 pounds, which Prograis would not do.
Soon after Prograis and DiBella parted ways rumors of the fight with Heraldez surfaced if Prograis did indeed go with PBC. But he also had an offer from Top Rank. Ultimately, Prograis and manager Sam Katkovski of Churchwell Boxing went with PBC.
“We had some conversations about signing him,” Top Rank vice president Carl Moretti old BS. “We just couldn’t come to an agreement and I guess they just preferred to take the other offer.”
Top Rank looked like an obvious destination because the company promotes unified titleholder Taylor (16-0, 12 KOs) as well as unified titlist Jose Ramirez (25-0, 17 KOs). However, Ramirez and Taylor both have upcoming mandatory defenses with Ramirez scheduled to face former titlist Viktor Postol on Aug. 29 in Las Vegas and Taylor is due to meet Apinun Khongsong on Sept, 26 in the United Kingdom.

Prograis: Subriel Matias is a C-Level Fighter; I Will Eat Him Up And Sh-t Him Out!
“The sport that you and I chose is one of courage and bravery! Showtime already offered you the fight,” Matias stated through his Facebook and Instagram channels on Monday. “If it's fear what you feel, I don't blame you, I'm afraid of myself.
“I'm going to write it to you in your language so that you understand. [Take] the fight, Prograis, I'm waiting [for] the contract.”
“Who the f--k is this calling me out?” Prograis asked, rhetorically upon learning of Matias’ claims. “This is a C- fighter and I will eat him up and SH-T him out.
“You better finish kindergarten before you join the big boys. I know I shouldn’t be replying to this but if you know me you know I can’t backdown from a fight.”
