We can talk about guys who during their career changed their style, but what about guys who just for a fight or a few had a sudden switch and showed a new dimension, rather than it being a long term thing
For example, Gassiev had always been a forward plodding stalker, but then he turned into a back foot, moving boxer vs Dorticos and hardly got hit with a clean shot, winning in clear and impressive fashion. Then vs Usyk he was back to the come ahead plodding and showed some limits
any others come to your mind?

Rocky Balboa (vs Clubber Lange)

You can put AJ in that group (VS Ruiz II).
Also Fury vs Wilder II.
As I don't think either is sticking to that particular style.

Froch vs Abe is exactly the type of one I;m after, nice one
Barrera I think became more like a boxer in general, compared to his early days, but he didnt really again fight in such a measured way (that i can remember at least)

Skelton v Williams II

Even though Bert Cooper didnt beat Evander Holyfield, he almost did
Re: Out of nowhere stylstic performances
On a lower level, Jono Carroll vs Scott Quigg. Showed a lot more patience and skill than in previous fights in which he'd been throwing 100 punches a round.
