Povetkin vs Whyte Result needs correcting on record..

On this site it shows as a TKO. The official result was KO. Whyte was asleep!

Agreed. WBC rules it a KO and they are the governing body!

The official result, as announced after the fight by David Diamante, was a technical count out. I'm presuming the BBBofC rules and regulations took precedence over what the WBC says. Per the BBBofC, if a referee interrupts the count (made by the timekeeper) and calls a halt to the contest then the result is a technical count out, also known as a technical knockout.

As mentioned in another thread, the most brutal stoppages are often tkos but the ref calls it without counting to 10, just because a guy is laid out doesnt mean automatic ko
