What is worst cheap shot you ever witnessed?
Mine has to be James Butler when he sucker punched Richard Grant. I have to say Mayweather vs Ortiz was a controversial one too.
I made a video about this where I discuss 10 of these cheap shots, feel free to check it out and let me know your thoughts!

Worst cheap shots are the ones, who are not punished by referees.
Re: What is worst cheap shot you ever witnessed?
The entire Lomachenko vs Salido fight.
Re: What is worst cheap shot you ever witnessed?
Butler v Grant was a disgrace. Thought Whyte should have been DQ’d against AJ too.
Re: What is worst cheap shot you ever witnessed?
Butler vs Grant.
I rarely see "Cheap shots" during an actual bout.
I don't consider Mayweather vs Ortiz to be a cheap shot. I consider that to be a guy that just committed a foul, didn't protect himself, and got what he got.
Re: What is worst cheap shot you ever witnessed?
Hmmm yes, it was a controversial one. I guess it can be interpreted in both ways.

Butler on Grant will always be the worst.
I can remember Lloyd Honeghan running across the ring at the start of the 2nd round and smacking Johnny Bumphus before Bumphus' cornermen had even left the ring. Technically speaking, the bell had rung but it took whatever Bumphus had left completely out of him after a first round pasting.
More recently, Andre Dirrell's uncle unleashing on José Uzcátegui.

I don't think so.BXNGCNTRL wrote: ↑26 Aug 2020, 18:07

Floyd's punch was perfectly legal.
Victor Ortiz had JUST headbutted him in the mouth intentionally, and now he wants a hug? And I'm supposed to feel bad for him for getting knocked on his stupid ass?

Ya we get it , that issue has been done to death lol
Re: What is worst cheap shot you ever witnessed?
Tony Anthony versus Mike Weaver was awful; if you haven't seen it, check it out.
Re: What is worst cheap shot you ever witnessed?
It was it is.
Floyd takes a 'win by any means necessary' approach, but no one is going to attach the term good sportmanship to him.
The guy's a bit of See You Next Tuesday. But he is a very rich one, with an army of fans.

Floyd showed tremendous restraint with Ortiz.
Re: What is worst cheap shot you ever witnessed?
I wouldn't even consider myself a fan. I just can't fault him for doing what any man in that position should've done.

You have a fair point to some extent.gilgamesh wrote: ↑26 Aug 2020, 19:36I wouldn't even consider myself a fan. I just can't fault him for doing what any man in that position should've done.
Like I kind understand a rush of blood to the head, when you're annoyed, so you give back in kind.
But Floyd is on the list twice, so he clearly has form for it, which makes it look more like a cynical series of punches - I don't think any man in that position would do that, personally.
But one thing I have to acknowledge is that Floyd is a winner at an elite level of a sport. He does whatever it takes.

I'll have to watch the video. Don't even know what the other could be.Finkel wrote: ↑26 Aug 2020, 20:41You have a fair point to some extent.

Oh ok I see. Mayweather vs Gatti.
Well, let's put it this way.
Gatti is my all time favorite fighter, but he dropped his guard, and looked at the opponent in the middle of a fight, and he got clocked.
Again, I can't fault Mayweather for doing what any man should've, and what I would've done in his shoes.
If you ain't got your guard up. That's your f*cking problem.
"Protect yourself at all times" ain't just a catch phrase. It's the reality of life inside a Boxing ring, and hell in any fight in general. Don't ever take your eyes off of the guy attacking you.

Andre Dirrell vs Arthur Abraham wasn't a cheap shot either.
That was a case Andre Dirrell exhibiting for the first time what a huge p*ssy he is.

Re: What is worst cheap shot you ever witnessed?
I find it weird how these videos insist that a guy turning to complain to the referee, and then proceeding to get clocked was cheap shotted.
He left an opening, and his opponent took it. Period.
That goes for Dempsey vs Sharkey too.
Don't look at the ref. I never feel sympathy for ANY fighter that does that for any reason. That went for Gatti my favorite fighter of all time, and it would go for everybody else.

Hell this rule even applies to ME.
I made this mistake once when I was a teenager in a fight with somebody, and I damn near got knocked out too
It's just one of them life lessons you need to learn.

James Butler though...what a piece of sh*t.
I know he's in Prison, but it's a shame somebody hasn't killed that worthless f*ck.

So you used to be a bit sawft? Have you learned your lesson bruh?
Re: What is worst cheap shot you ever witnessed?
I tend to learn from mistakes in fights for sure.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑26 Aug 2020, 21:01So you used to be a bit sawft? Have you learned your lesson bruh?
Most definitely have never done it again. Even went so far in the other direction that I accidentally punched somebody trying to break up a fight I was in after that because I was unaware of him coming to get in between us
