Not really. Vendetti won only occasional episodes, there was no single round, where he seemed to do more than Lara overall. Lara was in control every round. A lackluster mismatch.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑29 Aug 2020, 23:55 Did Vendetti legitimately deserve 3-4 rounds like the cards have?

Lara-Vendetti FOX Main Event Peaked At 1,067,000 Viewers; Show Averaged 832K
FOX’s viewership dipped Saturday night from the network’s preceding boxing broadcast a week earlier.
Nielsen Media Research reported Tuesday that the main event of that telecast – Erislandy Lara’s relatively easy, 12-round victory over huge underdog Greg Vendetti – averaged 1,042,000 viewers and attracted a peak audience of 1,067,000. FOX’s main event August 22 – Shawn Porter’s lopsided points defeat of Sebastian Formella in a 12-rounder – was watched by an average audience of 1,077,000 and drew a peak viewership of 1,225,000.
FOX’s entire three-bout broadcast Saturday night produced an average viewership of 832,000. The Porter-Formella tripleheader averaged 810,000 viewers.
Earlier Saturday night, FS1’s broadcast of two Lara-Vendetti undercard bouts was watched by an average of 109,000 viewers. That portion of FOX’s boxing programming peaked at 146,000 viewers, early in Justin Pauldo’s eight-round, unanimous-decision defeat of Josec Ruiz.

That's a shocker. I figured Porter would draw significantly more than Lara.

Comes down to opponents then I guess..jujigatame wrote: ↑01 Sep 2020, 21:02 That's a shocker. I figured Porter would draw significantly more than Lara.
Formella was a nobody and so was Vendetti..
Now put Porter vs. Lara at 154 pounds.. That would have done numbers!
Don't see what they want from Lara. He did really well against Hurd, the KD in round 12 was it? That was what won it for Hurd on my card and the judges cards. He's past his best, but I guess his style of fighting helps him at this age.

They could have done it. It would be a one great fight instead of two stinkers. But there was the last things. That's why boxing business stinks so much.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑02 Sep 2020, 04:06 Now put Porter vs. Lara at 154 pounds.. That would have done numbers!

If Charlo wins his next fight, PBC needs to make Charlo/Lara happen. When TR has the 2 best guys in the division (Loma and Lopez, Taylor and Ramirez) they seem like they generally make an effort to make that fight happen. PBC needs to show it can do the same.
The excuse for Charlo/Lara not happening used to be that they were both trained by Ronnie Shields. Well, now neither of them are. No more excuses.

If they make Charlo-Harrison 3 or Hurd or Williams. Im not going cry about them not making the fight. Lara isn't clearly the second/third best in the division. So its not the top two fighting.jujigatame wrote: ↑02 Sep 2020, 12:30 If Charlo wins his next fight, PBC needs to make Charlo/Lara happen. Charlo/Harrison 3 would be pointless. Though Tony did fight better in the rematch
