Heavyweights: Mike Tyson vs. Leon Spinks

Post by scorpio83 »

15 Rounds Heavyweight Bout

"Iron Mike" would put Leon out in the same fashion as his brother in the 1st round after nailing him with quick heavy left and right combinations. What do you guys think?

I think Leon may last a few rounds longer but not many. I however do not think he would be terrified and in awe of Tyson as Michael was, Leon keep in mind was a small heavyweight as well. I would give Leon maybe 2 or 3 rounds at most. Tyson of the mid to late 80s was a man on a path of destruction and anybody that got in his way would be destroyed. Leon just did not have the strength or firepower to keep Tyson off.

Obviously it's a question of a round, in which Tyson would win, so I propose the 4th as max.

Neon Leon would have been a cruiserweight today (and he was then I suppose...) it would have been similar to the fight with Marvis Frazier - Leon had guts though, he would have ran out like a pitbull on acid! but it would have gone a round.
