This all makes sense.
I suspect it will be like Spence vs Porter - we know who’s gonna win, but it’ll still be an epic close fight.

You guys almost got me convinced, imagine if Brook pulled it off?

I'm still going for a Crawford win though, possibly by stoppage.

I think El Tel is up there with the all time greats and gets the stoppage.
Brook is old, cutting weight after a long lay off and there for the taking.
THIS lady IS for turning !

But everything Thatch said is still true - (big, doubtful) IF Brook is good at the weight and has his best night he can beat anybody.

Crawford is a special talent, the way he dismantled and beat up Khan was class. I see the same result for Brook.

Maybe in his peak he would have made it competitive, but not now. He's looking to finish his career with a big payday.

Brook: When I Dethrone Crawford - It'll Be Among Biggest Wins For British Boxing!

According to former IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook, a deal is getting close to reality for a showdown with Terence Crawford, who holds the WBO world title at 147-pounds.

The fight is being discussed for a date in November in Las Vegas.

Brook has been fighting as of late in the junior middleweight division - but he's willing to drop back to 147 for a fight with Crawford.

Brook won the IBF world title when he defeated Shawn Porter on a close points win.

He would lose the belt in 2017 when he suffered a stoppage loss at the hands of Errol Spence.

The Sheffield boxer was in action back in February when he knocked out Mark DeLuca.

"Talks are progressing and we feel like we are edging closer," Brook told Sky Sports. "My team have been in regular dialogue with Bob Arum. He assures us that both him and Crawford are bang up for it, so hopefully we can get it over the line and give the fight fans something to get excited about and to close 2020 in style.

"Crawford is the champ so rightfully they want the fight stateside, Vegas has been discussed. It suits me though. I have always wanted to fight in Las Vegas - the bright lights of 'Sin City'. I've dethroned a welterweight American world champion in his own back yard before - I look forward to doing it again. Date wise Bob Arum is looking at mid-November so tell Sky Sports to get the sparklers ready, because I'll be bringing the fans fireworks!"

Brook feels confident - although he will be a tremendous underdog against Crawford.

He aims to land that big right - which he calls the 'chocolate brownie' - with the belief that Crawford will go down.

"He's an elite level fighter but he's never been in with anyone as strong, powerful quick and with the timing I possess. I think he knows that too. Nobody at 147 can take that right hand from me when it lands flush! Tyson Fury's wins overseas were huge for British boxing in the recent era," Brook said.

"Terence is a world-class operator, in his prime and in many people's eyes the pound for pound No 1 in the world. When I dethrone him, yes, I believe you'd have to say it is right up there amongst the biggest victories for British boxing."

Brook will get what he deserves from this fight. An absolute hiding. No British boxer has frustrated me more than Brook. He had it all and has left so much on the table. He's had 2 promoters who have done terrible jobs but ultimately the majority of the blame is down to Brook himself. Crawford puts him out his miserly and ends a disappointing career that could have been so much more.

Terence Crawford vs Kell Brook making good progress towards deal, Bob Arum hopes to finalise fight this week

Bob Arum has told talkSPORT he is hoping to finalise a deal for Terence Crawford vs Kell Brook this week.

It was previously reported that an offer of $1.5million had been made to Brook, with Mike Coppinger now claiming this has been increased to around $2million.

Arum told talkSPORT Fight Night on Saturday evening: “We’re talking with the Kell Brook people, lovely people.

“If we can finalise with Kell Brook, which we hope to do next week, and also we have to finalise the deal with Terence, we’ll get that fight on mid-November.”

At the start of the lockdown period, Crawford claimed he would rather wait for fans to return than fight behind closed doors.

The champion even claimed he would want more money to fight without fans, and would not be willing to take a pay cut.

This situation has seemingly changed now and Arum said: “I don’t know what he was saying, maybe he was afraid that we would cut him below his minimum [contractual purse guarantee].

“God knows what’s in his mind, some of these guys when they’re facing uncertainty that’s not the fault of anybody say things that they really haven’t thought out.

“And throughout this whole pandemic, there’s no fighter that we’ve cut from his minimum.”

Brook will be competitive for a few rounds, but can't see anything but a hiding in the end.

Kell's well past his best now.

Would have done then too.
hmmm. i think 'peak' Brook would have had a decent fight with Crawford. he's definitely the hardest sharpest puncher Crawford will have faced at 147, I'd say?

Crawford vs. Brook Negotiations at Advanced Stage For November 14

"We're having advanced conversations with Brook," DuBoef told Sky Sports.

"It makes sense for both fighters. We're eyeing a November date if it can get done. November 14 is earmarked as the date. The location, as of now, is Las Vegas in a studio-type environment. There was talk of going to Omaha, where Crawford is from, in an intimate setting with some fans. We're weighing it up. First we've got to see if we can put the match together. Then the venue."

Eddie Hearn, who promotes Brook, is hoping the deal comes together.

"I've been talking to [Top Rank CEO] Bob Arum about various things [including] Crawford against Brook, which looks close to happening as well," Hearn said.

I can't see Brook winning, he's 34 now, on the slide and has only had one fight since December 2018. Hopefully he gets a good pay day and hangs 'em up. He will be good for a few rounds but I can see Crawford stopping him late.

Two interesting names there but the talent difference is as wide as the "crossing of the pond" , Crawford wins this one.
