Alex Dilmaghani vs. Samir Ziani - 5 September 2020
Re: Alex Dilmaghani vs. Samir Ziani - 5 September 2020
That was a knockdown on a minute and a half when the ropes held Dilmaghani up, Ref acted like he was an extra member of Dilmaghani's corner. I'm glad the stoppage was forced on the ref in the end. I think the bell went as he tolled 8. For Ziani to have lost a decision after being denied the first knockdown would have been well wrong.

Yeah and the ropes saved him from a third knockdown too. Just think he deserved the chance to last 9 more secs and maybe get a draw or lucky win.Frostieballs wrote: ↑05 Sep 2020, 18:03Yeah but he should be disqualified for that poo dance he just did

They let that go on way too long, Dilly could hardly stand, that was horrendous to watch, he was reacting like the guys do before they collapse

Maybe he wanted to see scorecards?
Re: Alex Dilmaghani vs. Samir Ziani - 5 September 2020
The ref asked him to walk towards him...he didn't....but he waved it on anyway!

The ref was a complete disgrace through the whole fight. He ignored UFC style elbows, constant holding, didn't bother scoring 2 knockdowns in the final round. He actually waved it off at one point then decided on a count instead. Absolutely shocking, i think he had money on Alex to win.

if the bell rang during that final knockdown , the time keeper evidently didnt stop the clock when the ref told him too (on 2 occasions), there shoulda been like 30 more seconds than the tv clock had (the tv clock kept running)Neil Gee wrote: ↑05 Sep 2020, 18:06 That was a knockdown on a minute and a half when the ropes held Dilmaghani up, Ref acted like he was an extra member of Dilmaghani's corner. I didn’t see the clock and I can’t rewind my TV from the 1980’s.
What time did he go down on. Wasn’t it inside the last ten seconds or have I got that wrong.
If so, he might have been waved off after the 3 minutes were up?

Horrendous by the referee in the last round. Should of been stopped on the 2nd knockdown when Alex couldn’t walk forward. Very very brave man and had his tactics spot on at the start with working the body to slow Ziani down. Unfortunately when got a bit of joy started head hunting and let Ziani get a 2nd wind. Good fight to watch all action. Hope Alex is ok

yeah just watched it again.
I was wrong - you wanna see a guy make it to the end because he "deserved to see the bell" - but AD suddenly hit the wall and was in danger of getting seriously hurt.

Some of those elbows by Alex are DQ worthy too.

If Alex had lasted until the final bell it would have been a huge 12th round for Ziani, so pretty sure he'd have got the decision.
Alex needs a good rest after that sizzler.
Nick Halling just said Dilmaghani ahead on 2 judges scorecards going into the 12th.

Yeah that was the official time, but is that accurate given what was actually showing on the clock?skanksta wrote: ↑05 Sep 2020, 18:132.51 R12Frostieballs wrote: ↑05 Sep 2020, 18:12Frostieballs wrote: ↑05 Sep 2020, 18:11 I didn’t see the clock and I can’t rewind my TV from the 1980’s.

Well, not sure if the tv clock is correct because it kept running the whole round even though the ref twice called time

By how many rounds is the question.
Re: Alex Dilmaghani vs. Samir Ziani - 5 September 2020
Yeah corner should have told him to get on his bike the last round but don't think he had the energy to do that.
