Jared Anderson vs Rodney Hernandez

Post by oogiebe »

Anderson will take on nine-year pro and noted spoiler Rodney Hernandez in a bout scheduled for eight or six rounds Sept. 5 at the MGM Conference Center.

This is a fairly big step up for Anderson, whom everyone knows I'm high on. Hernandez is a tough fighter who has been in the ring with several familiar names including: Joe Dawejko (2x); Efe Ajagba; Jon Rice; Adam Kownacki; Michael hunter and Martin Bakole to name a few.

I'm a bit surprised at this matchup given Anderson is 20 and has only 5 pro fights, however he has a vast am background and looks the part of a gifted prospect.

The fight is on the undercard of the WBO Super Featherweight Championship between Jamel Herring and Jonathon Oquendo.

I'm stoked for this fight.

Good topic Oog!! Nice test for Anderson but it could be too big of a step up for Jared. Hernandez is developing into a legit gatekeeper and it could end up a close fight. I'll go with Anderson by close decision but it could turn out to be a draw.

Should be a good learning experience for Jared, whether he wins or not. The BoxRec schedule doesnt show how many rounds this one is, but the longer the bout the better for Hernandez because Anderson has only been past the first round one time & that lasted only 3 rounds.

I hope he wins but it's a risky fight. The kind of risk I would like to see more HWs take.

Hope the schedule it for 8 rounds. They shouldent.. Even a full 6 rounds is more fight time than Anderson entire pro career combined.
But just for my own amusement, id like to see how he fights, knowing that if he doesnt get the KO he is going way deeper than ever before. and if it makes it into round 7 or 8 it would be interesting to see how he was holding up. Think anderson outclasses him so probably shouldent get too tired, but ya never know...

Anderson by easy decision. Hernandez won't give most resistance.

Good fight for Anderson to build some experience. We will know whether he is the real deal or not depending on how this fight ends up. It’s very interesting to me honestly.

So you don't think it's too soon for him to fight Rodney? He's a tough out.

Hernandez is a very tough test for a youngster like Anderson. It's a fine match especially when you compare it to Hrgovic v Pala to take a current example.

The books know Hernandez about to get washed. Thats why them good odds on the decision because Anderson about to stop him.

I knew it was you the second I saw the name Jared Anderson. His opponent isn't a big puncher, but some risk considering he is only 20.

Jared isn't going the Luis Ortiz route.

Geezes, 6-1 on points seems like a great bet. boxrec only has it listed as 6 rounds. Guys been stopped early by Bakoli and efe but they stop everyone early. Id take a peace of that.

They dont always know something you dont, mabey A few dumb punters lumped on the anderson KO hype train, and the bookies just gotta balance there books and need some decison bets.

P.s Hernandezs weight is on point, anderson is super heavy. interesting. dont know how that changes my mind.

Nah, bookies are off plenty, a lot of them seem to have not very great knowledge. The last time I bet I got easy money on Ramirez as underdog vs sloppy Mo hooker

One of Tank Davis fights vs a total can I got like 3/5 or something like that

I was on Ramirez in that fight and the odds were an even fight and until the knockout it was an pretty even fight they weren't that off.

He scored a kd straight away and won easy, and was up on the cards. Anyone who'd seen them shoulda known he'd win. Yet bookies still gave me a dog price for him

As said too, I got Tank vs a can at like 3/5 before too, it was obvious those odds were f@cked up and shoulda been like 1/100, but hey, easy money

There is a lot of stuff out there for betters to take advantage of bookies who havent done their homework. The idea that they are some all knowing infalliable boxing gawd is lol
