Do you think Herring quit against Oquendo?

Most definitely. Won the first 4 easy. Then Oquendo started getting in the 5th or 6th and you could tell Herring was starting to fade. Quit while he was still ahead on the cards.

Probably, but i don't see why he should have to box with such a disadvantage of having his eyes shredded up by headbutts. Both guys suck and are going nowhere.

On the official cards he had an uncatchable lead. I do kinda think he quit when it got hard, but at the same time, if your eye is bothering you, and it was rulled an intentional headbutt, should you have to keep fighting gettting blood in your eye and not seeing shots?

My problem with it is he got to basically call it himself. Fighters in the future seeing that will remember. crazy thing is because it was "intentional" It goes to DQ, so in theory he could of done the same thing even if he had lost every round of the fight, Gotten near the end, relised he wasnt going to get a KO and then just claim he cant see and win by DQ...

Yea. I think I first saw Herring 3-4 years ago on FNF. Think it was Shafikov that he fought. Looked like a complete stiff and lost every round then ended up getting stopped late. (Actually was the only time I saw him prior to last night.) Then some months ago saw he had a belt or maybe when he first competed for it I saw it on the schedule and thought wtf. He's progressed some since then but yea hes getting to old and tires too easily and an M. Garcia, Loma, Tank, would have stopped that guy in the first 3.

Idk, I may have been tired but I thought Oquendo had won the last 2 rounds leading up to him quitting and he looked like he was about out of gas. But yea if an intentional clash of heads is cause for a DQ then the ref should stop it then and there. If the fighter chooses to continue then they shouldn't have that option later in the fight and it should go to the cards.

No way it should have been a TKO loss. Herring may quit, but he quit from what? From the cut sustained by an illegal move. Why should it be TKO then? Actually, the referee was allowing Oquendo to go with his head forward, while the ref had to warn Oquendo time after time. Penalizing Oquendo only once wasn't enough. It wasn't a boxing match. Herring did the right thing.
