Incredible fight loved it from the opening bell, great action all the way, fought all on the inside but it wasnt messy at all, ref didn't need to get involved which was just as well because when he was called on later he was fvcking woeful, first half of the fight was nip/tuck all the way, Dilmaghani was getting off some cute shots up close, the uppercuts and some nice body work caught the eye but Ziani was always there and showed some cute moves of his own

Ziani took over from thr halfway point for me I had him winning everything from the 7th onwards, he's just relentless never stops throwing and it in the end it got too much for Dilmaghani who showed a lot of mettle to try fight it out but his work lost its steam and Ziani was getting on top

Ziani wobbled Dilmaghani right at the end of the 11th and he shouldve been credited with a knockdown in the 12th when the ropes kept Dilmaghani up, academic really Ziani finally sent him down, some accurate rights and lefts forcing Dilmaghani down, same for the finishing KD , Dilmaghani just overwhelmed by shots and being forced down, I probably would've liked to have seen Dilmaghani finish the fight there cant have been long left, infact channel 5 time wouldve rang bell as Dilmaghani was down, no real complaints though Dilmaghani was spent, excellent fight love the look of Ziani, was well inpressed

Cheers mate likewise, I'm just reading through the thread now, got to admit I never noticed the constant use of elbows and also seems channel 5 had the wrong time remaining in that 12th, good stoppage then

I’m surprised nobody mentioned the massive fart that Scott Williams did after his fight with Idris Virgo.
Even the commentator was struggling not to laugh.

Really good contest.

It was good to see two guys up close, using good technique with no holding, clinching and messy stuff.

Cracking last round which the referee seemed to take off until he returned at the end, just in time to stop Dilmaghani who probably could have been stopped about two minutes earlier.

105-104 Ziani
105-104 Dil
106-103 Dil

So Ziani would have won a decision anyway if the fight went the distance, the first kd was all he needed (even just a 10-9 wouldve been enough to keep his belt on draw)

Heartbreaking loss for Dilmaghani.
im his brother. He was up going into the last round, and im shocked it was only by a couple. he blocked and shouldered a lot of stuff. Gary hyde, and his team had alex up going into round 12 by 2, honestly speaking i think he was more up by 4. The fight should have been stopped inside the first minute of the round, or let go, u dont stop fights in the last 8 seconds when someones beaten the count. Whatever idiot posts about elbows, understand something. Ziani is a dirty fighter....his 40lbs head was going in, he used elbows himself (alexs cut was from an elbow, overruled by the ref who said it was a punch)...and he went low countless times. I know he gets a lot of hate, im still not sure why, but this a site where proper boxing fans should be. Hes not fighting numpties like zelfa and archie and a whole host of other fighters are doing, and yet people give them undeserved props. Alex showed he could box and fight, and was very unlucky to get caught behind the ear with a roundhouse left, in the 11th. If he wasnt caught by that, he was going to win that fight. Alex hasnt been training in a gym for the majority of his fights, he trains at home, and i hold the pads for him most nights. Hes done this to be close to our mother, whose gone through a tough time. He trained pretty much by himself for this fight, where ziani had a whole team. Hes had it hard, but wont make excuses, or tell anyone this. Absolute stupid comments from some on here. He fought through hell to get to where he did, and all he wants to do is put on good fights. How the hell u going to come at the guy for that. He was one round away from being a euro champ, to someone who could very well be undefeated in almost 40 fights.

Ziani is very well respected in mainland europe but probably less well known in the UK , although this should help !

So Dilmighani did not lose to a poor fighter and can come again .

Offthehook, whilst I'm not that interested in your take on the fight because you're ridiculously biased, I'd be very interested to know if Alex is ok ? They said he was taken to hospital afterwards as precautionary measure ? Hope he's ok, because that was an extremely tough fight.

if that was a 10 rounder, it wouldnt have been hard. because he didnt take many shots until then, and hes got a solid chin. The damage came in the 11th and after in the 12th when he had nothing left.He came out becasue he was up and he had to hang on. He tried, and nearly did. His equillibrium was off, and spent very little time in the hospital, because it was precautionary. Hes just disappointed he was so close, and he caught caught behind his ear. I call a spade a spade, no bias, ziani did what he needed to do and came from behind. What i have mentioned is factual, u can message gary hyde or zianis corner if u like on social media to ask if they thought they were ahead.A lot of people had al up, because ziani missed a lot, problem is when alex works inside and the punches land clean, judges dont score them as well, because they dont see them as clearly as when shots come from distance, thats frustrating. Personally i dont score for missed punches, or partial landed ones, it doesnt make me bias. He will be back,
