I love the site but suggesting that boxrec not recording results would have any bearing on the fights taking place is laughable.
I'm pretty sure theres some fraudulent stuff going on down there for sure. Would not surprise me at all. Hell i could tell you fraudulent stuff thats happened here in the US. So, I don't care one way or the other. But I'm pretty sure less managers and american fighters would buy fights if they knew their W wouldn't be recorded on boxrec.
I couldn't imagine one, as long as the check cleared. Obviously they want their up to date record on here, but turn down a payday? No way.Granted, my interactions have been with fairly big fighters. Yes, boxing is a dirty business. Know plenty of stories myself, one of the reasons why the sport is at its least popularity in American history.
I'm not sure you understand what I'm saying. There is no payday to turn down for the americans or people buying the fight. They(or their team/managers) are PAYING to be able to fight fight.... The A side(the people buying the fight) do not receive any compensation to fight and get a win - their benefit is getting an easy win on their record..... But why pay money to get a win that's not even recorded?

The above is a correct summation.

Also, john, still respectfully waiting on a response from you

Fourth time I’m asking these questions.

In Rosario and or Tijuana ;

Will Americans vs Mexicans be recorded ?
Will Mexicans vs Mexicans be recorded ?
Will Americans vs Americans be recorded ?

A yes or no to each will suffice sir.

Man, if my wife went to my job and told me how to do my job ... wow.

I mean, can you answer these allegations and rumors and state weather the boxrec owner’s wife, “Martha” is responsible for these Changes ?

Your silence is deafening sir.

4. Is the boxrec's owner's wife, "Martha" responsible for not recognizing fights in these towns ?

A yes or no to each will suffice sir.

It's not that simple, but No fights in Rosarito will be recorded and some fights in Tijuana will be recorded if we are satisfied they are genuine.

Some fights in Tijuana will be recorded , and I quote “if we are satisfied they are genuine”.

Who is “we” ?
You and who else ?
“Martha” ?
Investigators ? Boxing insiders ? Who ?

How do you determine this absent video and other forms of hard evidence ?

Sounds like no American better fight and win against a Mexican in either Tijuana or Rosarito

Poor show, John, poor show here. I had a lot of respect for you.

I bet the house of a Mexican beats and American in Rosario it WILL be recorded.

John, not sure if you are responsible for this call, but this makes boxrec look like they are not only over stepping their bounds, but arbitrary and have a hidden agenda here.

Mind blowing quote about boxing in Mexico from boxrec

Post by punchy1 »

Direct quote :
“No fights in Rosarito will be recorded and some fights in Tijuana will be recorded if we are satisfied they are genuine.”

Lacking an men on the street , video, etc. boxrec will make determinations about this.

Bet big bucks that if a Mexican beats an American in Rosario it will count. Ditto for Tijuana.

Basically no Americans will be allowed to win.

Very strange. I wouldn't have thought it were up to boxrec to decide on wether fights were "fake" or not. That should be left to the sanctioning bodies / commissions overseeing the bouts/promotions. Boxrec should stay in its lane otherwise it becomes a very slippery slope.

Precisely !!!
My point exactly !
Boxrec belt to come soon with boxrec league apparently.
Insane. Why have a commission when you don’t see their authority as legit. Boxrec planting the seeds to make their own “league” apparently.

Insane.
A very, very slippery slope indeed !

All this butthurt nonsense. Its called a free market, that means that you can go and make punchyrec.com and register all the fights that you want and the people of boxrec they can create their boxrec belt and league if they want to. If you disagree with the policy of boxrec.com then create your own record registry and show the boxrec people how its done but stop crying about these things. Better yet if there is some issue that you think that can be solved to better boxrec then think creatively and put yourself in touch with the boxrec people and the promoters and commissions by email but this "calling out" on forums it isnt going to do much good.

I have found that sunlight is the best disinfectant.
Boxrec has basically a stranglehold on on the records right now TBE and has become a pseudo official record keeper used by all the commissions. It’s replaced fight fax in this regard.

Here’s a suggestion, maybe boxrec can just record fights and not take a political / social stand and refuse to “do their job”. Just a suggestion.

Commissions and not boxrec are not the arbitrator of what fights should count and which should and what nationalities can have wins recorded over others.

If you don’t know the above paragraphs are the problem, you haven’t been reading or paying attention

You criticize boxrec for some alleged 15$ fee and then you say that they should "do their job". When you do your alleged job do you collect a fee or a salary?

There are obviously allegations floating out there of misconduct of certain promoters and commisions, should boxrec just register John Doe's 100-0 record without questioning it just because some piece of paper had a few stamps on it?

How about offering up some solutions instead of just criticizing others for the good work that they have done?

I suggest that boxrec should defer to the various boxing commissions and forego any agendas of social justice without evidence.

I suggest without any video or other hard evidence they are not, absent commission determination, in a position to determine if a fight is fixed, unfair , etc

The job of boxrec is to record, not to pass judgement and make determinations, especially with no evidence.

Furthermore, relying on the “feelings” and sympathy for the “losers” of these bouts, who in this case are Mexicans, is foolish and illogical. What’s next, boxrec will no longer mark victories for English and Europeans who beat up on those poor Hungarian tomato cans ?

A slippery slope, indeed.

Boxrec should make money, and to be a moanger, promoter , etc costs $$$ and generates Money.

All the pop ups generate money.

However, to have to extort money in order to do that they were designed to do is folly.

Make it a pay site and if it’s reasonable, I have zero problem. However, to demand money or your fight won’t be listed,,. That insane.

To have the owners wife, who probably doesn’t know a fish hook from a left hook to dictate policy about not letting American wins against Mexicans count is further hurting Mexicans who make their living by being opponents. If she grasped that from across the pond and did some research, she would recant. Her policy is directly hurting Mexicans who make their living by being opponents. The ones she claims to be protecting are the only ones she is hurting.

There you go - some suggestions as well as solutions. Some clarity.

Boxrec making the determination., seemingly over any commission or the ABC of what to count and what not to count is over stepping In a huge way.

Write a letter to your promoters and tell them to clean up their shows and grow some integrity. Maybe then the issues will be resolved. Thank you for your anticipated cooperation.

Ok. And the response to that is :
What commissions ?
And accuse them of what, exactly ?
And the evidence is ?

That is exactly the problem with boxrec (and their sycophants, apparently)

No specifics other than “Americans must not beat Mexicans in Mexico”
No solutions other than. “Only Mexican victories will be recorded”
And... wait for
It...

ZERO EVIDENCE!

Thank you for playing. Some nice consolation prizes for you in the back....

Why do you defend something so corrupt and egregious as what boxrec is doing ?
A simple question, why ?
Try to silence it by moving or deleting it.
This is real , this is happening. This is effecting boxing.
It’s not PPV but it is boxing.

You kind of come off like you are a sycophant and sucking off someone at boxrec, TBH.

Wait a moment ...

Is this Martha the SJW ? (Social Justice Warrior)

Martha, you got to chill out. Denying men a living is not the way, lass. Not at all.

Listen, Martha, I know you mean well, but you have zero grasp of boxing and the sport’s business side.

These opponents depend on American money, otherwise they would never fight.

It’s ok, Martha, it’s ok. You made a mistake. Try and get your husband to erase it, but it’s out there and already a topic of conversation.
