Could be, though these judges be wack sometimes and throw some curve balls
I think competitively, in terms of the actual ring action, it's a good fight. Much better than what are real 100-0 fights from competitive perspect

Very competitive in the ring not very much so in the actual results. Re: Ryan Garcia vs. Luke Campbell - TBA
Eddie Hearn says negotiations are ongoing for a fight between Luke Campbell and Ryan Garcia, which was a fight mandated by the WBC. He told ESPN that he sent Golden Boy a proposal a week ago, and that a counter proposal was returned. "It wasn't outrageous, but again, it's challenging at the moment," said Hearn. Who notes that if an agreement is not reached, this bout will go to purse bids. But he says optimistically, "We'll try and reach a deal this week."

Ryan Garcia: I’ll beat Luke Campbell relatively easy
“I hope to get this fight with Luke Campbell made,” Garcia said. “This should show people that I’m not all talk. I want the good guys at lightweight. All these other fighters, they’re talking a lot, talking a lot, but I see who they’re fighting. They’re not going to fight anybody like I’m going to do against Luke Campbell, you know what I’m saying?
“Just look at the facts. I’m gonna fight Luke Campbell and I’m gonna show the people I will beat him, and relatively easy. But I cannot wait for this opportunity. I’m here to show the world I’m a great fighter. This is the time to do it. Hopefully we get this fight made.”

If it happens I guess it means Campbell will have to go to the U.S, can't see Garcia doing this in the UK.

Re: Ryan Garcia vs. Luke Campbell - November 2020
"We have reached a deal," Roberto Diaz, executive matchmaker for Golden Boy revealed prior to the start of the session. "I'm sorry to say, it looks like we have to cancel this again."
"To give everyone a bit of clarity, we had some issues with the contract we sent to Golden Boy," clarified Eddie Hearn, managing director of Matchroom Boxing. "The fight will take place in America. Robert and Eric Gomez (president of GBP) will work on that. The date will be middle-to-end of November."
"I’m [p]ositive I got a fight with [L]uke Campbell," García tweeted on Wednesday. "FINALLY DONE! Wooooo about time we sign some papers."

Teo stepping up massive, Garcia stepping up big, Even tank taking his best fight in years if he makes weight, Selby in with a tough undefeated Aussie, Is fortuna still trying to fight linares? 135 is fuking Lit...
Haney needs to get amongst it asap. But im guessing he is looking to wait for the Undisputed fight, so im guessing he will stay low risk.

Top fight. Good on Garcia putting his money where his mouth is. This is refreshing stuff, esp if Lopez Lomanchenko happens.

Luke Campbell: I See Myself Breaking Down, Stopping Ryan Garcia!
"Hopefully we've got a date in November," Campbell told Sky Sports. "We're looking around the 14th, so hopefully we can move on that date soon.
"For me, it's done. That's the guy who I'm facing. He's the one that's there to win, because he's the up and coming guy, but I'm excited by this opportunity to show the world what I'm really capable of doing. I see me just breaking him down and stopping him."
"My opposition have been levels above what he's had to face so far," said Campbell. "In my 17th fight, I fought a three-weight world champion in (Jorge) Linares, who at that time was in his prime and was also in the top 10 pound-for-pound list as well. It's a fight I thought I won.
"Then fighting Lomachenko who is ranked pound-for-pound No 1 in the world. I've had experience being in there with world opposition. Class guys. All that does for me is grow my confidence, makes me believe in myself. Coming from my last performance, I know I can be so much better than that, and now this is my opportunity to go and prove it."

Re: Ryan Garcia vs. Luke Campbell - November 2020
I believe in Luke Campbell.
He’s good enough to negate the hand speed of Garcia with his feet and boxing skills. He surely won’t get blasted out early and he’ll put Garcia to the ultimate test, a test he won’t pass.
But If Garcia beats him you just have to respect him, and the Reynosos.
It’s a great fight. I don’t really mind who wins either but mostly I just want to be right. Because, that’s the most important thing in life, being right. The worst thing in life is probably someone highlighting your comment with a laughy face emoji. God that’s just embarrassing. That’s the thing, our generation have it much harder because of this but, in turn, that makes us much tougher than any generation that has been. That’s why Andy Ruiz beats Sonny Liston and Jesse Vargas makes more money than Muhammad Ali. Speaking of Jesse Vargas when his next fight? He always reminds me to renew my subscription.

Ryan Garcia vs. Luke Campbell possible for Nov.14 in California
Luke Campbell and Ryan Garcia have a possible date of November 14th in California for their clash for the interim WBC lightweight title. Campbell (20-3, 16 KOs) will be making the journey to fight in the young 22-year-old ‘King’ Ryan’s home state.
It’s still not official for Nov.14, but it should be confirmed soon by Campbell’s promoters at Matchroom.
The two-time Campbell isn’t bothered about fighting potentially behind closed doors against Garcia (20-0, 17 KOs), as he won’t have to worry about the crowd. It’s just going to be those two and a small number of people watching the fight at the venue.
Luke ready for Garcia in November
Campbell told Sky Sports that he’s going to “break him down” when they fight in the fall. He plans on pressuring Ryan, and slow and methodically wearing him down in the same way Carlos Morales did in 2018.
Morales wasn’t given the victory, but he fought well enough to deserve a decision in the view of many people.
Garcia won the fight by a 10 round majority decision, but it was easily the worst performance of his career. Incidentally, Morales is the best guy that Ryan has fought since turning pro in
Morales created a great pro in 2016, so it’s telling that he had problems against him, as he’s someone that he should have beaten with ease. If Ryan is the real deal, he needed to make easy work of Morales the way that Jorge Linares did recently.
It would be a massive plus for Campbell’s career if he were to beat Ryan, as it could lead to a fight against the winner of next month’s Vasily Lomachenko vs. Teofimo Lopez fight. That’s who Campbell, 32, wants to face.
But if he doesn’t get the Lomachenko-Lopez winner, he’s assured a title shot against WBC lightweight champion Devin Haney or whoever holds the title by the time he’s ready to challenge for the strap.
“Hopefully we’ve got a date in November,” Campbell said to Sky Sports News. “We’re looking around the 14th, so hopefully we can move on that date soon.
“He’s the up and coming guy, but I’m excited by this opportunity to show the world what I’m really capable of doing. I see me just breaking him down and stopping him.”
Nothing standing in the way
Nothing is stopping the Campbell vs. Garcia fight from taking place in 2020, as it’s a match that isn’t dependent on a large crowd for it to take place.
A win for Campbell will be a significant blow for Golden Boy Promotions, considering they’re hoping to develop Garcia into a major superstar as they did with Canelo Alvarez. If Golden Boy matched Campbell the way they’ve done with Canelo, he could very well become a superstar in the next five years.
They’ve done a superb job of matching Canelo carefully, picking guys that we’re older, and then fighting them in Las Vegas where he’s gotten lucky repeatedly with the scoring of his fights.
Ryan doesn’t fight in Vegas, though, and it’ll be interesting to see if he wins a lot of close, controversial decisions in California the way Canelo has been doing in Nevada.
But in some ways, Ryan could surpass Canelo, as he speaks English, he smiles, jokes and he doesn’t have a lot of fans going against him. One gets the sense that a lot of boxing fans watch Canelo’s fans hoping he’ll lose.
Still, you don’t get that with Ryan. He’s got a lot of fans, especially on social media, which numbers over six million. If Garcia wins a world title, his followers on social media could double.
“My opposition has been levels above what he’s had to face so far,” said Campbell.
“At the moment, there are no fans, but I guess you never know. The location will be in California.”

The best fighters on King Ryan’s resume:

Campbell’s fights against Lomachenko and Linares greatly overshadow the four best wins on Garcia’s resume. It’s not just that Campbell fought those guys. He was competitive with them for the entire contest, and it was, in no way, a blow out pair of defeats.

Re: Ryan Garcia vs. Luke Campbell - 5 December 2020
Press Release
One of the most highly anticipated lightweight showdowns in recent years is set to finally take place as rising star Ryan Garcia (20-0, 17 KOs) faces off against experienced contender and Olympic gold medalist Luke Campbell (20-3, 16 KOs) in a 12-round battle for the interim WBC Lightweight World Championship. The fight will take place on Saturday, Dec. 5 and will be streamed live exclusively on DAZN in the U.S.
Information regarding the venue and the undercard will be announced shortly.
“For years, the world of boxing has been clamoring for a crossover star who can reach new audiences that have gone untapped for far too long,” said Oscar De La Hoya, Chairman and CEO of Golden Boy. “Ryan Garcia stands at the precipice of doing the same thing at an incredibly young age when he takes on Luke Campbell. While transitioning Ryan’s enormous social media following to DAZN viewers is good business for Ryan, Golden Boy and DAZN, it’s more importantly good for the sport of boxing, which needs a shot in the arm right now more than ever. For the next months, we are going to work tirelessly with our partners to promote this fight — by far Ryan’s biggest test of his career —which can catapult Ryan’s career to an entire other level."
Garcia is a 22-year-old contender who has quickly developed into one of boxing's most popular young athletes. Since joining the Golden Boy stable in 2016, he has steadily made his case for a world title opportunity by defeating the likes of "Ruthless" Romero Duno, Francisco Fonseca, Carlos "The Solution" Morales and Jason "La Maravilla" Velez. Since joining forces with renowned trainer Eddy Reynoso, the native of Victorville, Calif. has looked better than ever, improving his technical abilities and scoring knockout wins in his last five fights. But now, the toughest test of his career lies before him in Campbell, a man with whom he can prove definitively that he is championship material.
“I’ve been eagerly waiting to get back in the ring and have been working harder than ever to get here,” said Ryan Garcia. “It’s been a tough year for everyone, but I’m excited to bring the fans an escape for the night… or based on my track record, a few minutes at most. Luke’s record speaks for itself, but I’m ready to prove the doubters wrong. This is my era now and December 5th just the start of it.”
Campbell, a former WBC Silver Lightweight champion who took home a gold medal in front of his English countrymen in the 2012 London Olympic Games, is an elite fighter. Along with wins against Darleys Perez and former world champion Argenis Mendez, 33-year-old southpaw has been in very competitive fights against former unified 135-pound champion Jorge “El Niño de Oro” Linares and current unified lightweight champion Vasiliy Lomachenko. Whether due to his experience or his skill, Campbell is confident he can break Garcia down.
“2020 has been an extremely tough year for everyone, so I’m really pleased we can finally get this fight officially on and give the fans something to look forward to,” said Luke Campbell. “There’s been a lot of talk and he’s clearly a very highly regarded fighter, but I’m going to prove that this is far too much, far too soon and that I’m on a completely different level. I’ve fought in America before, so this will be nothing new for myself and my team. Fans or no fans, the one thing I can guarantee is that I will be coming back to the UK with the victory. Training hasn’t stopped for me, and I’m going to be in peak condition to show something very special from Luke Campbell on December 5.”
“This is a great fight in what is probably the hottest division in boxing right now,” said Eddie Hearn, Managing Director of Matchroom Sport. “Luke is fearless in the challenges he takes and is ready to score a major victory in December against Ryan Garcia. Luke has been operating at the elite end of the division for a long time, and although Ryan is an exceptional young talent, I truly believe Luke’s pedigree and experience will be too much for him.”
Garcia vs. Campbell is a 12-round fight for the interim WBC Lightweight World Championship presented by Golden Boy in association with Matchroom Boxing. The event is sponsored by Hennessy "Never Stop. Never Settle" and “BetOnline - Your Online Sportsbook Experts." The fight will take place on Dec. 5, 2020 and will be streamed live exclusively on DAZN in the U.S.

Re: Ryan Garcia vs. Luke Campbell - December 5, 2020
Handlers Exploring Possibility Of Saturday Afternoon Show
One of the biggest days on the current boxing calendar could come relatively free of conflict—at least outside the ring.
Multiple sources have informed Boxing Scene of discussed plans for the December 5 DAZN show—headlined by an lightweight clash between Ryan García and Luke Campbell—to move to an afternoon slot. Such a schedule change would relieve home viewers of on-air conflict with a Fox Sports Pay-Per-View event later that evening, topped by undefeated, unified welterweight titlist Errol Spence versus former two-division titlist Danny Garcia (no relation to Ryan).
Both events are not only on the same date, but were also officially announced on the same day—in fact within two hours of each other on October 8.
ESPN Knockout’s Fernando Barbosa was the first to reveal this development.
Since entering the U.S. marketplace, DAZN-USA traditionally runs its major shows on Saturday evening though there have been plenty of Friday events as well. The over-the-top sports streaming platform has yet to present a stateside show during the afternoon, reserving such practice for events taking place in England and other overseas markets where said shows are live in primetime.
García-Campbell would be the first such event to break new ground for DAZN, though the option remains in the exploratory phase.
The lightweight bout has been in the works for months, avoiding two separate purse bid hearings in order to finalize terms.
Campbell (20-3, 16 KOs)—a 2012 Olympic Gold medalist and two-time title challenger from Hull, England—aims for his third shot at a major title, with a win in this fight getting him there as an interim title will be at stake for the contest. Victorville, California’s García (20-0, 17 KOs) agreed to face the Brit after considering other avenues towards a lightweight crown.
While terms were long ago reached, securing a fight date was the long remaining hurdle. One was found, free of competition at the time until two other major platforms decided to change that dynamic.
The upcoming PPV event between Spence (26-0, 21 KOs) and Danny García (36-2, 21 KOs) was originally targeted for November 21 at a location to be determined. The date change came out of the blue, catching everyone—including DAZN and Golden Boy Promotions—by surprise, though necessary given the fight’s ultimate destination.
The event will take place at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys in Arlington, Texas and near Spence’s hometown of Desoto, Texas. The unbeaten southpaw headlined at the massive venue in a 12-round shutout of former four-division champion Mikey García (no relation to Ryan or Danny) atop a Fox Sports PPV event last March.
The official announcement for the forthcoming DAZN event did not include a firm location. Golden Boy Promotions has set up shop at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indio, California, with its post-pandemic events taking place without fans in attendance.
Also potentially taking place on December 5 is the return of two-time and reigning lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (30-0-1, 21 KOs). The unbeaten champ was due to face Deontay Wilder for a third time, though their planned December 19 clash seemingly will no longer take place in 2020—and perhaps not at all.
For now, England’s Fury is planning his first fight in his home country since June 2008 when he returned to the sport following a near three-year absence. The next title defense of his World championship will take place versus an opponent to be named, live on an ESPN platform from Royal Albert Hall in London.

For now, England’s Fury is planning his first fight in his home country since June 2008 when he returned to the sport following a near three-year absence. The next title defense of his World championship will take place versus an opponent to be named, live on an ESPN platform from Royal Albert Hall in London.
Re: Ryan Garcia vs. Luke Campbell - December 5, 2020
Glad to see this will happen it's a very interesting fight.
Garcia gets the bout in his backyard as expected, probably means Campbell will have to do a bit extra to get a decision if it goes that way.
Nevertheless Garcia deserves points for taking it at this stage in his career, boxing wise it could be a challenging fight for him.
Looking forward to it, it's an exciting match up.

Ryan Garcia vs Luke Campbell to air in afternoon to avoid Spence-Garcia conflict
In a welcome bit of common sense, Oscar De La Hoya tells ESPN that the December 5th WBC interim title fight between Ryan Garcia and Luke Campbell will air in the afternoon to avoid conflicting with Errol Spence Jr. vs. Danny Garcia, which moved from November 21st to December 5th in Arlington in order to accommodate a limited live audience
“It’s not a logistical nightmare,” said Oscar De La Hoya, the founder of Golden Boy Promotions, on Monday’s edition of “The 3 Knockdown Rule” podcast. “This fight [Garcia-Campbell] will be in the afternoon. Their fight will be taking place in the evening, so it gives everyone enough time to do what they have to do.”
In addition to the obvious, this should work out well for Campbell’s (20-3, 16 KO) fans back in the UK, who would otherwise have had to stay up late or get up very early to see the former gold medalist face the fast-rising Garcia (20-0, 17 KO) for a crack at Devin Haney’s lightweight belt.
That’s one less unnecessary double-booking. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like we’ll get a similar arrangement on Halloween when Naoya Inoue vs. Jason Moloney goes head-to-head with Gervonta Davis vs. Leo Santa Cruz.

Re: Ryan Garcia vs. Luke Campbell - December 5, 2020
The closer we get to this fight the more I feel Garcia is going to be too skilled for Campbell and win a comfortable decision with a KD or 2.
Campbell does pose a challenge for Garcia, but watching some Garcia fights I think he has a bigger edge in skills than I originally thought.
I'm not looking too much into Campbell's success against Lomachenko since Garcia brings a much different style to the ring and doesn't give up nearly as much reach and size. I just feel Campbell's basic straight up euro style will play right into Garcia's superior speed and countering abilities.
