Round-by-Round: Anthony Yarde vs. Dec Spelman - 12 September 2020
Re: Round-by-Round: Anthony Yarde vs. Dec Spelman - 12 September 2020
Ben Davison is Taylor's trainer !?
I did not know that.
Controversial opinion - I think Davison will turn out to be a top trainer.

I am not sold by him, Fury did way better without him using different tactics and he was in bjs corner for bills worst performance
a matey strength and conditioning coach with connections, but one of the worlds best boxing trainers? not sure

Frankham clearly won both but the second much scrappier overall

Both true, but not the whole story imo.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑12 Sep 2020, 15:23 I am not sold by him, Fury did way better without him using different tactics and he was in bjs corner for bills worst performance

He may well turn out to be a 'matey' yes-man type - of course you could be right. I'm not sold on him yet either, but he's a very calm presence and he seems to say simple, but intelligent things .

His advice to bjs was novice and fury did way better taking on totally different tactics. roach critiqued ben after the first fight and roach was totally right
There are thousands of trainers in the world, i just don't think he's showing much that suggests he's one of the very best. having top fighters (who btw were already your mates) doesnt make you one of the best, we'll see though

This started off looking like a walk in the park for Frankham but the further it goes the more McCauley is dragging this into the trenches. Tough old boot.
Re: Round-by-Round: Anthony Yarde vs. Dec Spelman - 12 September 2020
Decent prospect Frankham.

If Josh Taylor puts in a stinker, then that's 3/3 that got worse and I'll admit I'm wrong and he's rubbish.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑12 Sep 2020, 15:34 His advice to bjs was novice and fury did way better taking on totally different tactics. roach critiqued ben after the first fight and roach was totally right

'Josh Frankham 4x National Amateur Champion'
Can someone who follows the amateur game explain what constitutes 'National Amateur champion' ? Doesnt look like Frankham has ever entered the ABA finals ?

Cedric "Peyns" Peynaud
ffs that is terrible.
ffs that is terrible.
Re: Round-by-Round: Anthony Yarde vs. Dec Spelman - 12 September 2020
Essuman wins competitive first
Re: Round-by-Round: Anthony Yarde vs. Dec Spelman - 12 September 2020
Essuman winning but Peynaud's proving a handful
Re: Round-by-Round: Anthony Yarde vs. Dec Spelman - 12 September 2020
Peynaud wins the fourth after getting completely outboxed in round 3. That's boxing for you.
Re: Round-by-Round: Anthony Yarde vs. Dec Spelman - 12 September 2020
Easy to score - agree with Ritchie's card.
Re: Round-by-Round: Anthony Yarde vs. Dec Spelman - 12 September 2020
Peynaud falling short again after winning a round.
Re: Round-by-Round: Anthony Yarde vs. Dec Spelman - 12 September 2020
4-2 Essuman - he took the 6th off
Re: Round-by-Round: Anthony Yarde vs. Dec Spelman - 12 September 2020
Essuman in cruise control for me except for the one round blip
Re: Round-by-Round: Anthony Yarde vs. Dec Spelman - 12 September 2020
In cruise control 5-2 for me.
Re: Round-by-Round: Anthony Yarde vs. Dec Spelman - 12 September 2020
It's scrappy but still think Essuman's taking the rounds.
Re: Round-by-Round: Anthony Yarde vs. Dec Spelman - 12 September 2020
Essuman wins 8th virtue of those heavy, sustained bursts of fire, he put a lot into that one.
Re: Round-by-Round: Anthony Yarde vs. Dec Spelman - 12 September 2020
"Peyns" outclassed and a mile behind.
Needs a KO to win.
The Frenchman has world class toughness, an English-level punch and sub-area-level everything else.

Re: Round-by-Round: Anthony Yarde vs. Dec Spelman - 12 September 2020
Essuman thinking about the Conor Benn results against Peynard it seems, he wants the stoppage to improve on Benn, but don't think he's got enough left to manage it.
Re: Round-by-Round: Anthony Yarde vs. Dec Spelman - 12 September 2020
Peynaud goes the distance again
