Maidana was knocked down three times in the opening two rounds by Ortiz, yet rallied to win.

JMM also down three times against Manny yet boxed well after that to punch out a draw.

Carl Thompson and Ezra Sellers also jumps out. Both men hit the canvas on multiple occasions, Thompson four times and Sellers twice. What a fight.

Sellers/Stewart had a ton too. The answer has to be an old time 40 rounder.

Dave McAuley was down four or five times against Rodolfo Blanco but got the desicion in Belfast in defence of his IBF title.

It was an absolute robbery but Blanco made amends in Spain.

I think he was only dropped twice but he seemed to be hurt loads of times before knocking out his opponent in the last seconds of the 12th ~ Sam Maxwell.

Dunne-Cordoba such an entertaining fight. A forgotten one.

I don’t think he was down. Wobbled but not down. Probably a punch or two from being stopped.

Joe Jeanette was knocked down 27 times against Sam McVey, it wasn't all one sided as McVey was knocked down 19 times as well.
Jeanette finally won after 3 1/2 hours when McVey couldn't come out for round 49.

I remember that boxer at the 2012 Olympics getting knocked down 5 or 6 times in a round and been given the decision. It was overturned, though.

That was Magomed Abdulkhamidov vs Satoshi Shimizu, with the result being turned into a win for Shimizu, who would lose to Luke Campbell in the semi final

Hong Soo Hwan was down 4 times in round 2 vs Hector Carrasquilla... Then stopped Carrasquilla in the very next round

Remembering watching 2011 amateur boxing championship final. Denis Berinchyk vs Everton Lopes, brazlian spend half of 3rd round on the floor and still got the gold :D :D Quillin vs Njikam fight was also funny, Njikam was down like 6 or 7 times but fight was very competetive

Interested in your view on that one - how did you score the first fight? McAuley was down four times, Blanco down once. I still had McAuley winning by three points, and thought it was the right decision. Was some discussion on it previously on here at viewtopic.php?f=9&t=225411 which explains some of the reasoning, rather than repeating it.

Plus I recall the rematch scoring being controversial, although I didn't see that one - only listened on the radio.

Orb - think Patterson was down twice in the third fight before winning it, having floored Johansson a couple of times too. Is that the one you're thinking of?
