Hagler isn't from MA?
Re: 10 Greatest boxers to come from New Jersey?
He was born in Newark NJ and moved at a young age. Ike Williams was not born in New Jersey. He was born in Georgia but moved and lived in New Jersey since his childhood.

Jim Flynn
Mickey Walker
Earnie Schaff was a fair fighter in his day.
Jimmy Braddock

Marvin Hagler (born in Jersey)
Joe Jeanette

Castellani during his boxing career lived in Luzerne County PA. I have a friend there who i have visited several times over the years and he has taken me to the statute of Rocky in town. It is a great monument to a local legend. It may be likely that many do not even know who he is. In the later years of his life after he retired i recall him being a boxing judge and he also owned a bar and club in Atlantic City NJ called Rockys.

My most fanatical years as a fan were late 80s and early 90s and some Jersey guys I remember were.
Glenwood Brown
Bruce Seldon
'Ice' Cole
Another guy I always liked was Harold Rhodes, who I think held a title briefly in early 90s.

Tony Thornton was always good for a good fight . He has been gone since 2009 killed in a motorcycle accident.

He was based in NJ, reasonable call. Though that did him no favors with the wba judges when he fought pedroza there.Counter-puncher wrote: ↑31 Aug 2020, 04:56Why I didn’t do more than just think about him![]()
