Are Wilder and Usyk the same size

Post by margaret thatcher »

Usyk drained for cruiser and then weighed 215 at hw, Wilder weighed 212 in the Fury draw

Is Wilder p4p better than Usyk?

Not a huge difference. Wilder couldn't make CW though and still be competitive. Too lean.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Usyk outmuscle Wilder due to superior skill/positioning/stamina.

Wilder has P4P power, that is all.

To be fair, Wilder by his own admission claimed he’d try to unify the cruiserweight division after unifying the heavyweight division.

It was also proven that Wilder only weighed 209lbs on the morning of the fight for the first Fury bout.

Deontay did this without even trying to lose weight.

Also, well-defined heavily-muscled welterweight fighters, like Errol Spence Jr. and Kell Brook, would lose far more weight trying to make 147lbs than Wilder would need to in order to achieve 200lbs.

So Wilder would have no problem competing at cruiserweight.

tbh wilder makes me question how many of these dudes should really be a heavy naturally, cause he has those low weights and wouldnt doubt he could make 200 if he went for it, but even up at 231 he's still far leaner (his weight is more natural and not so much exxcess fat weight) than a lot of these hw players who weigh in around that....

not sure that many other hws would be tittyless and still have ribs and obliques showing at 230+

Usyk is better in p4p sense than Wilder. Actually, I'd even pick Usyk over Wilder in their potential fight. I believe, Usyk can circle around Wilder, maul him with the outside work in Usyk's trademark style.

After Wilder loses again to Fury, he has no excuse to not drop to CW then. I'm holding this post accountable if he doesn't.

Depends. If Wilder is in his super-powered-leg-draining costume then he is indeed larger.

well for what its worth I have respect for Usyk as a fighter having beaten all comers at CW
cant say the same for wilder who has been protected and so would love to see this fight .
Who wins ? well in his first HW fight Usyk took some heavy shots and was marked up badly , could he take it from wilder ??
Maybe not but if he could out fox and out move him then maybe over 12 he gets a points win.

Wilder is much bigger, bigger frame, longer reach.
Usyk has done nothing at heavyweight & time is running out.
Would be a fun contest though.
