The "non-title" bit is interesting - indicates that one of them must be champion of Nigeria at some weight. Quintin Pitt had won the lightweight title the year before (see https://boxrec.com/en/titles?t%5Bbout_t ... ight&t_go=) but then there is an absence of results until the mid-70s. Similar gaps for other titles, not least because of fighters heading to Britain, making their domestic titles vacant. Wouter - any thoughts?

I am by no means an expert on West Africa's boxing history, so I can't really help you with the details. I am aware that there is much work still to be done and the records we have now are very much incomplete. Access to contemporary sources is still very limited and until national / university libraries start digitizing their archives we have to be satisfied with bits and pieces and unanswered questions.

Thanks Wouter, and agreed on the sources. Boxing News has a good stream of results from Nigeria in the early 1950s but then it goes quiet, which is really annoying.
