Tony Yoka
Re: Tony Yoka
It's weird. The event's page is in the database, but with no fights.

Re: Tony Yoka
Big row in France over event, waiting for confirmation from Federation
Re: Tony Yoka
Not sure, the event officials are up in arms about something, it was an important event with Yoka so I think the Federation will act quickly (COVID premitting)
Re: Tony Yoka
Hi, no news about the problem ?

Re: Tony Yoka
Not a reason to pull the entire event though ....
Re: Tony Yoka
excerpt from wbn article about the fight .
" The referee then stupidly got into an argument with Duhaupas and his team. They quarreled over why the fight ended."
maybe some sort of appeal is lodged ..
pointless really as Duhaupas offered no real fight and hardly managed to even throw a punch back

Re: Tony Yoka
i just had johann tell us no he had not appealed even though he disagreed with arbitration.
moreover, if we look closely, his fight is no longer displayed but in the ranking he is well at 38-6 and not 38-5 as written on his personal sheet

Re: Tony Yoka
The event is in the system, the French don't want it displayed.
Re: Tony Yoka
It's the weirdest thing I've seen on Boxrec so far. Records in the ratings are correct, the result is displayed on "results" home page section and yet it's hidden? French don't want it displayed? It's the official French editors or whom?
Re: Tony Yoka
Federation de Boxe Francaise
Re: Tony Yoka
This appears to gain more attention. I found some rumors that it's about money. It makes sense. Federation may not received paycheck and now wants it hidden. Still think it'd make more sense to have it on as an unsanctioned show, but I'm not sure about rules.

Someone isn't paying sanctioning fees? so now it's an exhibition match?
Wasn't much there that you could call a boxing match anyway....

But that wouldn't make the undercard an exhibition...SportsRatings wrote: ↑30 Sep 2020, 16:45 Someone isn't paying sanctioning fees? so now it's an exhibition match?

Plus - it is (not 1st) such a dangerous precedence as far as fighter's health considerations go. Knockout losses should not be hidden.
BoxRec should go back to reporting all LEGIT fight results (not the fixed fights or glorified gym sparring sessions) dependless of what the local commission/federation thinks. That's why we have a NSF-distinction available. If local Federation wants to put sanctions (I don't speak about sanction fees but suspensions, revoking of licenses etc.) on fighters/promoters for not abiding their rules - hey, current system allows listing them too.
But a trend of omitting the REAL fights from database due to political mingling is TRULY ABHORRING!

Re: Tony Yoka
Yeah, it should be whatever the fight was agreed upon by the boxers themselves. If they thought it was an exhibition, it's an exhibition. If they went in thinking it's a real fight that will count on their record, it goes in as an official fight, regardless of what the non-combatants decide.Petu v.d. If the result is overturned for some reason, then so be it, but it's still listed as a fight that occurred.
Re: Tony Yoka
We have spoke to the FFB who said thay don't know what happened and they are awaiting receipt of the minutes of the event to know the observations of the meeting delegate.

It's been a week and the Federation don't know what happened at one of their own events
