Yeah, but Manny seems to really have gone soft in his later career, I've not seen the Mathysse fight, but he seems generally to have lost the appetite for hurting opponents a long time ago.
We can only hope that McGregor sodomises his wife/sister/mother/all three, and brings out the devil in him.
Impossible to be certain, but he's scored one stoppage in 11 years.

Has moving to wales made you glad for any crumbs of entertainment you can find?

Yes, the public are there to be fooled many times over.
Re: Will the public be fooled twice? Pacquaio vs McGregor
How much money does McGregor want/need?
He apparently earned £66million against Mayweather; why would he need to embarrass himself and destroy whatever reputation as a fighter he has left?
Pacman could easily finish him in less than 2 minutes. But he will probably do as Mayweather did and try and make it a show for the fans.
I am not sure he would be able to carry McGregor for 10rnds though .. he would practically have to hold him up.

Yes - I'd have to agree. Sometimes we forget these guys are pugs .. successful because of their knuckles and fists - not their intellect and cognitive abilities
Re: Will the public be fooled twice? Pacquaio vs McGregor
Hope pacquiao gives him a whooping for a "proper 12" rounds - with a stoppage in dying seconds.

McGregor certainly has that Eubank quality where many people tuned in hoping he would lose

IF they are going to make boxing ufc cross overs, you have to make the UFC guy wayyy bigger to make it interesting... Like connor vs inoue... @168lb.....
Re: Will the public be fooled twice? Pacquaio vs McGregor
Great minds etc
Re: Will the public be fooled twice? Pacquaio vs McGregor
While most will be pleased to see McGregor beat up, and he is happy for the cash, these are horrible match ups, its like sticking Pac in against Joshua or worse
Re: Will the public be fooled twice? Pacquaio vs McGregor
He got old and slowed down, and clearly lost his youthful mean streak. He has been competing at a very high level these last 11 years, against opponents who generally don't get stopped. He's scored plenty of KDs against these guys.jamesmcdonnell wrote: ↑28 Sep 2020, 10:58Possible, but also possible a combination of age, and a lack of anything much to prove robbed him of it.Flump wrote: ↑28 Sep 2020, 10:42Or some cynics have suggested that it was around the time Mayweather was giving him a hard time over PED's, possibly causing a rethink over his conditioning habits.jamesmcdonnell wrote: ↑28 Sep 2020, 10:29

Re: Will the public be fooled twice? Pacquaio vs McGregor
I had a guy tell me Connor will kill MP. “He much bigger, and has more powwa!”
I’d advocate that guys execution. I struggle to live on earth with these kind of people.

I wasn’t fooled the first time, mainly down to being completely smashed come fight night and falling asleep on the sofa. I haven’t even seen Mayweather/McGregor all this time later.
However, I would watch this if it actually happens. The thought of Pac swarming all over that overrated toss pot is well worth the £25 it’s likely to cost.

Re: Will the public be fooled twice? Pacquaio vs McGregor
A fight with McGregor, according to Pacquiao, would require the involvement of his promotional company, MP Promotions.
He also denied having an agreement with Paradigm Sports Management, who guide the career of McGregor. The eight division champion has now formed his own management company, Pac Sports and Entertainment.
"At the present time, I do not have an existing management contract with Paradigm Sports Management. I have formed my own company, Pac Sports and Entertainment, and am more than willing to give the fans what they want: An exciting fight with Conor McGregor under terms and conditions where I am the co-promoter with my company. Thank you and God bless," Pacquiao told The Daily Mail.

Re: Will the public be fooled twice? Pacquaio vs McGregor
Mcgregor is more similar in size to Canelo; wonder why he isn't calling him out?
Re: Will the public be fooled twice? Pacquaio vs McGregor
So the fight would likely make it two years since Pacquiao had a 'real' fight and people here are all for it. I don't get it.
Re: Will the public be fooled twice? Pacquaio vs McGregor
Fans aren't usually that magnanimous....they weren't with Mayweather and McGregor. Pacquiao's a current world champion who hasn't fought for nearly 15 months and people are happy to see him in a 'testimonial' fight. It just really surprises me.
