Mitchell Smith looking like a heavyweight in a fight

Came across this video of him looking like a heavyweight in a fight. I'm not sure why he would do something like this. If he wants to fight again, he should surely get his weight down. The opponent was basically a journeyman, not good to see. Not sure why Smith is celebrating as if he's won the lottery afterward. I thought he had a good amount of talent when he was coming through but it looks like George Jupp completely ruined him mentally. I hope he can get his weight down and have one more crack at it, you can see he still retains some talent in the video.

I’m sure he’s got his licence back already. That fight was late last year as mickey says he’s lost a lot of weight since then but he’s still a way of his proper fighting weight

I read a bit about him just now, seems he suffered some depression issues and binge ate etc. Probably getting back in the ring felt like a victory so maybe why he celebrated like that...

Think the hype of the wbo high ranking got the better of him (4). He lost to jupp ( a decent domestic level fighter) and had alot of issues outside the ring. A spell inside and balloned in weight. His got his licence back will be interesting to see what weight he fights at and what level he gets to. Cliamed he cud do 9st once and was chasing warrington despite the fact the lowest he weighed was 9st 3. Cant see him coming close to super feather now. Wonder if Warren will re-sign him.

There was a four page spread about him in Boxing News last week - he says he got up to 18 1/2 stone at his worst.

I think he had some fairly major issues outside the ring - not really touched on in the interview.

It's a decent read, if nothing else because the author appears to be his biggest fan, stating "The Harrow man was beautiful to watch - truly majestic at times" and that he was "a fighter tipped for multiple world titles". My personal favourite lines was "Wins over Norwin Gallo* and Lee Connelly should have stirred excitement amongst the boxing community".

Yeah he's got the talent that he can come in looking like Butterbean vs these guys and batter them. What's the point? Celebrating like he won the lottery afterward too. It doesn't come across well.

Had sparred loads of rounds with Jupp, very tall for the weight and could Box Jupp was coming in as an opponent Was meant to be an easy nights work.

The way he conducted himself around the Jupp fight was a complete turn off - He then went and lost anyway so most people did actually turn off.
