Re: Boxing News
Not sure what he's up to now but I looked up Claude a few years back and he's a super vegan or something, very eco minded. Was doing a round world trip with his wife and kids, running a blog cataloguing the journey. No mention of boxing.
Re: Boxing News
All covered when Tris interviewed him for Boxing Life Stories a few months ago. Interesting listen.

Re: Boxing News
A lot of people do look forward to women’s fights. The recent Taylor vs Persoon fight was great and I, as well as a lot of people on here, was looking forward to it.Shhhh wrote: ↑03 Oct 2020, 10:56 BN wpuld be much better if it didn’t waste so much space on women’s boxing. No one cares. The quality is poor. Most boxing fans are men. No one looks forward or cares about women’s boxing fight it’s a waist of time. BM started doing the same. Would have like 2 full articles on women’s boxing. It soon after went under
I love well matched competitive fights - regardless of the sex of the boxers.
And to push that Boxing Monthly went bust because they started to cover women’s boxing is plain stupid.

Re: Boxing News
Yeah it’s annoying that women rarely seem to hurt each other in boxing. Plenty of stoppages in women’s UFC fights, but hardly any in women’s boxing. Makes it much too predictable and dull.Shhhh wrote: ↑03 Oct 2020, 11:35Persoon Taylor was a gritty bit low skill fight. With almost zero possibility of a stoppage. It was club level. I know many boxing fans and people involved in the sport and I have never known anyone looks forward or chat with interest about women’s boxing. THe quality is too low. And the depth is shallow. Look at Facebook. Look how many comments and shares women boxing articles get. Usually zeromaverick23 wrote: ↑03 Oct 2020, 11:05A lot of people do look forward to women’s fights. Re: Boxing News
Persoon isn’t technically good but saying it was a low skill fight is rubbish - Taylor showed some really good skills at times with her counters. I know several people who bought the PPV mainly to watch that fight.Shhhh wrote: ↑03 Oct 2020, 11:35Persoon Taylor was a gritty bit low skill fight. With almost zero possibility of a stoppage. I don’t disagree that the quality is shallow but, as I said, if it’s a good well matched fight then it’s fine by me.
Re: social media, I’m not sure what you’re looking but there were loads of comments about the Taylor fight, Jonas/Harper fight and also the Rachel Ball fight. All 3 were competitive and entertaining fights:

I’d like them to also cover the breakaway ABA as opposed to just English Boxing in the amateur scene.

Re: Boxing News
great point. they've done a few big features recently about female boxers and i skip through them. christie's big editorial this week was about how the sanctioning bodies are warping boxing to such an extent that pac v mcgregor is viable, yet women's boxing has a false sense of importance entirely due to the sancioning bodies and the world title labels that are attached to women's fights which are on the same skill level as club fights.Shhhh wrote: ↑03 Oct 2020, 10:56 BN wpuld be much better if it didn’t waste so much space on women’s boxing. Re: Boxing News
People do care but clearly not everyone does and it isn’t awful. Give me Taylor vs Persoon or Jonas vs Harper any day over Yarde vs Spelman or Dubois vs Sneijder.high tower 1 wrote: ↑03 Oct 2020, 19:39Come on now , no one cares.
