Bellew: Joshua Beats Fury, But He'd Have Problems in Whyte Rematch!
Former cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew is backing Anthony Joshua to beat Tyson Fury - if the two heavyweight champions collide in a high stakes unification in 2021.
As far as the top heavyweights go, Bellew views Joshua as the only boxer capable of defeating Fury - as long as AJ jumps on him in the first six rounds.
However, he feels a rematch between Joshua and Whyte will be far more emotional - and because of that Joshua could get clipped on the chin. Joshua knocked Whyte out in seven rounds in 2015.
"I believe the only heavyweight in the world with the skillset, the speed and the accuracy who can [beat Fury] is AJ. On the other hand, when it comes to matching other fighters up – I may think AJ beats Fury, but I think AJ has real problems going in with Dillian Whyte in a rematch because styles make fights. Dillian will put pressure on AJ and he’ll probably trade. Because it’s so fierce between them with the rivalry and the domestic stuff, he’d probably get caught up in a war and that’d be wrong," Bellew told Talk Sport.
“If AJ went in and boxed against someone like Dillian Whyte, he gives himself a much better opportunity. But when emotions take part, things get out of hand, you get caught up in the moment and you start trading. I think for AJ going in against Fury, he doesn’t get involved with any of that. He just literally jumps on him and throws and lets the punches go.
“AJ’s the fastest combination puncher in the heavyweight division since Mike Tyson. No-one throws punches in combinations with the speed, power and ferocity that AJ does. As I said, he’s got six rounds to do it against Fury. If them six rounds go past then I don’t see anybody beating Tyson Fury after six rounds.”

SO..... Bellew thinks...... that AJ's problem against Whyte would be that he would get caught up in a war and trade with Whyte....Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑12 Oct 2020, 06:27

AJ did say he wouldn't let emotions get to him, he's much more matured compared to 2015, which let's agree was 5 years ago. AJ has come a long way and CAN box.. So can Whyte, we'll have to see what happens..
But him saying he'd jump on Fury, can he catch Fury first of all.. But then that's the same thing as going all out..
He's saying either AJ finishes it in 6 rounds, or he loses.
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua - TBA
It goes in collection of Tony Bellend's anecdotes. The guy probably entertains us on purpose.

Re: Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua - TBA
Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua, the undisputed heavyweight title Battle of Britain, is set to take place in the spring of 2021 if both sides agree
Eddie Hearn – the promoter and head figure at Matchroom Boxing – has apparently set Fury vs. Joshua’s date to go ahead.
Speaking to Sirius XM’s ‘AK and Barak Show’ recently, in an interview handed exclusively to WBN, Hearn outlined his thoughts on several points.
Here’s what he said regarding Fury vs. Joshua:
“I cannot see any way Fury-Joshua will not happen on April 21,” he stated. “The only thing we are working on is broadcast rights.
“Both Fury and Joshua’s teams are good with it. Both sides think that they will win.
“This is the only fight to make in 2021, and it will be the biggest fight not only in British Boxing but in World Boxing.
“I want AJ to become the Undisputed World Champion, and we are very close to making this happen.”

Re: Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua - TBA
How has Tony Bellend been given so much air time nowadays?
He was always a deluded idiot that talked and acted accordingly. Now he has a platform to spew even more nonsense. It's pretty clear that the boxing fans see him as an idiot, so why is he still employed to voice them?
Is he simply employed to be the fool that the casual boxing fan viewer can be confident they know more than?

Re: Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua - TBA
He's curiously successful outside of boxing considering I have to mute the TV every time he speaks. I mean, not only was he cast in a Rocky movie, but he was the best thing in it.tonyevs wrote: ↑08 Nov 2020, 05:35 How has Tony Bellend been given so much air time nowadays?

Re: Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua - TBA
I have actually gotten to the point now when I cant stand to listen to Tony Bellew.
Whatever Eddie & Barry Hearn's opinions are, then they are automatically Bellew's too. Quite sad.

Re: Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua - TBA
Bellend is there cos Eddie doesnt aim to attract proper boxing fans, he's after coked up Kyle and his Talkspurt listening mates who willingly stump up £35.99 (or whatever this will cost as Ppv) to watch a bill full of shite birds fights, Dave Allen v the Kazakh heavyweight champ and a cockney whelk vs a latvian binman. Kyle and Kev just love the snort and after a couple of chugs see Bellend as the modern day Bert Sugar.
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua - TBA
Fair enough a lot of people in boxing may have a bit of bias here and there but Bellew, Coldwell etc take it to another level.

Re: Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua - TBA
He has always had a seriously overinflated and deluded opinion of himself; years ago doing a throat cutting gesture to Frank Maloney .. what sort of cretin would do that!!
The Cleverly loss cut him to the bone, and the loss to Stevenson is something I bet he still denies to himself.
He had an amazing run of good luck, and good for him that he took advantage of it to secure himself and his family .. his nan obviously included.
But he needs to be kept away from the microphone; the guys an idiot.

The man who wanted to escape the limelight had another cameo on Soccer AM yesterday.
He loves a camera does Tony.
He still doesn’t believe he turned his back on Adonis.

change the record ffs. boxing fans pointing out an ex champ is on the tele is so fornicating tiresome. you don't have to watch him, theres loads of channels nowadays.PredatorHayds wrote: ↑08 Nov 2020, 09:22 The man who wanted to escape the limelight had another cameo on Soccer AM yesterday.

Edit: I actually apologize for sound so abrupt there, but every time he speaks its the same old boring patter from "fans" who moan boxing doesnt get enough coverage, then moan relentlessly when it does.

Firstly the bloke said he was going to avoid the limelight and spend time with family during an interview. He acts like he’s forced to be on these shows.Steveh583 wrote: ↑08 Nov 2020, 09:30change the record ffs. boxing fans pointing out an ex champ is on the tele is so fornicating tiresome. you don't have to watch him, theres loads of channels nowadays.PredatorHayds wrote: ↑08 Nov 2020, 09:22 The man who wanted to escape the limelight had another cameo on Soccer AM yesterday.

Secondly the majority of them aren’t boxing related. He spends more time on TV talking about Everton than he does Boxing.
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua - TBA
I remember him having a go at Kugan for sticking a microphone in his face when he had retired and just wanted to stay out of the limelight.
Then he continued to talk for an hour.

That's right. Tony Bellend is an annoying idiot. Probably he's just hired as a jester.tonyevs wrote: ↑08 Nov 2020, 08:35 He has always had a seriously overinflated and deluded opinion of himself; years ago doing a throat cutting gesture to Frank Maloney .. what sort of cretin would do that!!

Re: Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua - TBA
The point you are missing is that there are plenty of other ex-boxers who could do a better job of commentating than Bellew does; he is an attention seeking whore who will say whatever nonsense he thinks his paymasters wants to hear .. his opinion is always 100% a biased opinion, and whilst that ok if your sat in a pub and some no brain piss head wants to spout their nonsense, this no brain idiot is getting paid to be some sort of boxing expert able to read a fight.Steveh583 wrote: ↑08 Nov 2020, 09:30change the record ffs. boxing fans pointing out an ex champ is on the tele is so fornicating tiresome. you don't have to watch him, theres loads of channels nowadays.PredatorHayds wrote: ↑08 Nov 2020, 09:22 The man who wanted to escape the limelight had another cameo on Soccer AM yesterday.

I expect even those paying him know he is an idiot with practically zero respect in the game, so the commentating will eventually dry up .. then beware because he will be desperate enough to do the Strictly Dancing/Get me out of here/reality TV thing to extend his celebrity
