The final press conference took place today for this Saturday’s WBA interim light heavyweight title between champion Dominic Bösel (30-1, 12 KOs) and Robin Krasniqi (50-6, 18 KOs) at the GETEC Arena in Magdeburg, Germany.

Dominic Bösel: “It’s finally time! I want that tingling sensation again. I need it and I want to show everyone in the ring how I will defend my title. I can defend this title! In Robin Krasniqi, I saw a lot of things that I can exploit. I want an early end, a knockout.”

Robin Krasniqi: “You can’t plan a lot in boxing. I just want to fight. I’ve proven often enough that is my strength is my indomitable will! The dream of a world championship belt must finally come true in this third attempt.”

The card will take place in front of a live audience and this is first time since 2015 that boxing is back on the main public channel “Das Erste” ASD.

WBA interim and IBO light heavyweight champ Dominic Boesel (30-1) will defend the titles against stablemate Robin Krasniqi (50-6) on October 10 in Magdeburg on a SES promotion writes BILD.

Boesel was all set to take on Australian Zac Dunn in the spring but then the coronavirus knocked out all of the boxing shows - and as things are now Dunn is not allowed to leave Australia.

As for Krasniqi, he dropped down the super middleweight in 2015 and won the EBU title in 2018 but lost it last year. He came back in August of this year.

Boesel won the vacant WBA interim title and the IBO belt when he stopped Sven Fornling in November of last year and this his first defense.

Although it’s only for an interim belt, horrible title matchup as only the Germans can deliver, Krasniqi is a stiff who has been widely outclassed whenever he fought anyone decent. Can’t imagine they will ever let Boessel get in with a legitimate lt, heavy contender or belt holder. Krasniqi’s only fight since losing to a fellow nobody for a Euro belt last year was beating a 14-14 opponent

Boesel was never tested. They were never gonna take him out of Germany and now he’s lost.

One of the best results by an Albanian-born boxer, for what it is worth though. Bosel is another german hype job derailed.

Wow, Krasniqi has always been kind of a Euro-level also-ran, I figured if Boesel could beat Fornling he could beat Krasniqi without much trouble.

P.S. Awful Magoo moment from the ref there. Surely he must have noticed after the "slip" that Boesel was wobbling around like a drunk.

Good deal, Euro club fighter/fringe contender takes out hype job with a padded record. Nice ending. Krasniqi won’t win a round against the division’s top guys but a nice win for him
