Corrie Sanders vs Samuel Peter

Post by DrDuke »

Prime vs prime, 12 rounds.

Both of them were top fighters of the early-mid 2000. Both of them faced both Klitschkos. Both of them dropped the younger of the brothers. Also, both are in the endless war for the title of Vitali's best win, which is a so popular theme for discussion on this forum.

Neither Sanders, nor Peter were known as the sweet science practitioners, both were more of sluggers. Neither had anything special about their chins. Sanders had a better handspeed, Peter was more durable. I guess, Sanders had big chances to KO Peter early, but if he failed to do it, he would very likely be stopped himself.

How do you see this fight going, whom would you pick and why?

Sanders was the more skilled and precise of the two. If he's actually in shape to be able to go some rounds he'd win I think. If he gasses though Peter takes him out.

Peter usually had better stamina, and was probably physically stronger over, but because his technique was pretty sloppy he wasn't the puncher Sanders is.
