This might be one for you Miles. I saw an article in the press today about Len Johnson and the issues with his colour in that era with the BBBoC only allowing boxers born to white parents to fight for the British title. Do you know much about him and is his record on here accurate (95-33-7) ?

It's a good article and a very worthy cause. I know a lot about Len. There are a few areas in the article that are a little revisionist but that's to be expected nowadays. I will respond in more detail shortly.
Off down to London tomorrow to do some filming with Michael Portillo and the BBC. I will be talking about Ted Kid Lewis.
There’s a good profile of Len in “The Manchester Fighters” by Denis Fleming (1986). It gives his record there as 116 fights (W86 D3 L27) but he would have had many, many more in the boxing booths.
