Haney seems like a quality fighter but isn't that a step back for Lopez?
Re: People want to see Lopez fight Haney now?
The way Loma was viewed in the boxing world almost anybody is a step back for lopez at his current weight... Stepping up and fighting champions in higher divisions presents new challenges but should not necessarily be expected off the bat. I would be happy with a Tank Haney or Stevenson fight before he moved up or even if they fought at higher weight

Haney has the WBC belt though. Although people are claiming Lopez is undisputed now, and he should be, he isn’t realy in the traditional sense...
I’d like to see him try fight Haney, tank and Ryan Garcia then move up. But I’m guessing if he skips them they will find each other at 140 one day.

Anything but a rematch with Loma is a step down for Lopez in some sense. You can't really take a step up from Loma.
Assuming Tank and Haney win their next fights (as they are favored to do) I would like to see Lopez/Loma II, and also Tank/Haney, with the winners fighting each other. That would be truly ideal. Which also means it won't happen.
