Re: Dave Allen v Christopher Lovejoy
Lovejoy has a decent record of 19 wins but nothing on the win list to suggest that Allen does not have a chance.
Lovejoy ranked 15 by the WBA

The host of Soccer AM?
Re: Dave Allen v Christopher Lovejoy
He's currently ranked 86 places below Danny Williams by Boxrec..
Re: Dave Allen v Christopher Lovejoy
Not a great fight by any means in terms of skillset but hopefully Allen knocks one of the many padded records out of the alphabet rankings.

Interesting to see whether the Matchroom fanboys Macklin and Bellew dare drop their trousers again to shill this rubbish. We know theyre shameless but surely they can't follow this one of the cliff ?

Re: Dave Allen v Christopher Lovejoy
Chris has only fought in Mexico and Mexico not well known for Heavyweights, does not look up to much as afight
Re: Dave Allen v Christopher Lovejoy
He’s fought one person with a winning record. I used to very much dislike Hearn but tbh you have to admire the way he’s somehow got a large section of British boxing fans hanging off his every word and buying anything he chucks on PPV. Strange folk.
Re: Dave Allen v Christopher Lovejoy
This fight would have made more sense thirty years ago (i.e. pre-Boxrec) when you could get away with this shit - "just look at his record" "KO artist" etc etc.
A proper Joker Gym style-resume.

Re: Dave Allen v Christopher Lovejoy
Lovejoy appears to be the second coming of Mark de Mori...
Re: Dave Allen v Christopher Lovejoy
We’ve mocked Lovejoy on here for being ranked by the WBA...presumably when Dave Allen wins, because Lovejoy is crap, we can start to mock Dave Allen for being #15 in the world with a recognised sanctioning body.
Re: Dave Allen v Christopher Lovejoy
So, the legendary Lovejoy now fights someone, who is more or less known?

Re: Dave Allen v Christopher Lovejoy
I kinda like it as a stand alone intrest but dosent add much to a PPV. i have zero idea how good realy lovejoy is, but he is ranked and being running his mouth so much that people almost recognise the name... Allen should win comfortably, If not you have to question why lovejoy has been fighting guys outside of the top 1000... If Allen wins, and gets a WBA ranking, i think thats worth it.
6'5, proper heavyweight, 19-0, 19KOs, top 15 WBA, propper tear up. Thats what eddie will be trying to get down casuals earholes.

17 first round kos
Re: Dave Allen v Christopher Lovejoy
Interesting for what it is, obviously not PPV worthy but easy sell to the casuals, like a poor mans Monte Barret v Tye fields
Re: Dave Allen v Christopher Lovejoy
We have to say that atleast with Allen he has faced top opposition even if it means losses and wins against a mixed bag of opponents. I'd much rather more proper pros like him being ranked than the Christopher Lovejoy's of the boxing world, regardless of his limited skillset.
Re: Dave Allen v Christopher Lovejoy
Can’t remember to be honest, with a bit of luck bookies will make Allen the underdog and we can all clean up!
Re: Dave Allen v Christopher Lovejoy
Why do people care about journeyman Allen?

Re: Dave Allen v Christopher Lovejoy
IF they do it will be a race to see who can dump there life savings on Allen befor the odds correct themselves.... I just hope they get odds up soon so i can get a bet on befor everyone sees the shape lovejoy will be in. 2 days notice, on that covid program.., wont be shocked if he is wellll over 300lb.
Re: Dave Allen v Christopher Lovejoy
Interesting in what way? Him admitting in the past he hasn't bothered to diet and train in camps for PPV fights? Or him standing there like a punchbag over and over again? He is nothing more than a journeyman.
Re: Dave Allen v Christopher Lovejoy
The only guy with a winning record he has faced has since gone on to lose every fight he has had.

That being said, he is still probably Lovejoy's best opponent. Or he might be, I haven't heard of him or any of the others for that matter.
