Inoue don't need to chase anyone..he's the draw, vs Nery etc..and his resume is fantastic for a guy with 18 or whatever fights

He does.
Just like GGG, Inoue is a true professional both outside and inside the ring who's done it the hard way, on the road against all comers.
Following the footsteps of GGG, having to take the decisions out of the hands of referees and judges.
Luckily for Naoya Inoue he's made it to boxing's summit a few years earlier than Gennady Golovkin. I also think this layoff will be to his advantage. Eye socket injuries should never be taken lightly.
In any case, given his action packed style it's going to be a real pleasure watching 'the monster' fight again.
Unfortunately I was late to the 'Chocolatito' party, but yes he is a beautiful boxer.
He has something of Ali and Breland about him that at times can transcend this most brutal of sports.
Re: Naoya Inoue vs. Jason Moloney - October 31, 2020
I'd agree, it's Nery who should chase Inoue.
Naoya's CV isn't 100% impressive, but certainly some of it is: TKO 6 Adrian Hernandez, KO 2 Omar Andres Narvaez, TKO 6 Kohei Kono, TKO 1 Jamie McDonnell, KO 1 Juan Carlos Payano, KO 11 Nonito Donaire that the ref stole from him. There aren't that many better active resumes down in those weight classes.

Re: Naoya Inoue vs. Jason Moloney - October 31, 2020
I know most won't give a shit but I really am intrigued by the Japanese TV set up for this....Lemme explain...
The live broadcast will be in the morning in Japan on WOWOW, a premium service (think HBO or Showtime for reference). This will have a small audience, but give those wanting to watch live the chance to watch live.
On the SAME DAY it will be broadcast across Japan at PRIME TIME on Fuji TV (and affiliates), for those wanting to watch but who don't have WOWOW.
Can we imagine something similar anywhere in the world?
For example Sky Sports in the UK having a major card from the US (think...Joshua Vs Ruiz I) then giving it away on BBC at prime time the same day...
Really does make you realise why one country gets millions, up on millions, of viewers for a tape delay broadcast and other countries...well...yeah...

Sky would probably want a lot of money to show it on delay the next day even free.. But they don't think about the bigger picture. The exposure!

Moloney: There will be fireworks on Oct 31
By Ray Wheatley – World of Boxing
Former IBF bantamweight challenger Jason Moloney (21-1, 18 KOs) spoke to Fightnews.com® to advise on how his training and sparring are going for his October 31st showdown in Las Vegas with pound-for-pound best IBF and WBA bantamweight champion Naoya Inoue (19-0, 16 KOs).
Moloney is preparing in Las Vegas under the guidance of Angelo Hyder.
“Training has been going great,“ said Moloney. “I’m working extremely hard and feeling fantastic. I sparred twelve rounds yesterday with three different sparring partners and got through the rounds with ease. I wake up every day hungry to work hard and to be the best that I can be.”
Moloney has been injury-free during preparation for the showdown on October 31st. “I’m physically and mentally in the best shape of my life,” he stated.
He has had excellent sparring. “I’ve got five different sparring partners who I am working with over here in Las Vegas who are all giving me great rounds. I have my brother Andrew over here, I flew a guy named Jonathan Rodriguez here from Pennsylvania, Jesse Rosales from Las Vegas, Andrés Campos from Chile, and Vegas Larfield who we brought over with us from Australia.
“All of these guys have been studying Inoue for the past month and are trying to simulate him when sparring me. They are all giving me great work and are forcing me to stay switched on from round 1 to round 12.
“I’m ready to do whatever it takes to win this fight. I’m ready to go flat out for twelve rounds if that’s what it takes but ideally, of course, I would love to win by knockout and I believe I have definitely got the power to do it. There is going to be fireworks on October 31st.”

Re: Naoya Inoue vs. Jason Moloney - October 31, 2020

Press Release | Undercard Information
Robson Conceicao, a 2016 Olympic gold medalist for his native Brazil, seeks to notch the signature win of his unblemished professional career when he takes on Luis Coria in a 10-round junior lightweight fight Saturday, Oct. 31 from the MGM Grand Las Vegas Bubble.
Conceicao-Coria will serve as the chief support bout to the world championship doubleheader featuring unified bantamweight world champion Naoya “Monster” Inoue’s title defense against Jason Moloney and Mikaela Mayer challenging WBO female junior lightweight world champion Ewa Brodnicka.
The card will also feature Toledo's 20-year-old heavyweight sensation, Jared “The Real Big Baby” Anderson (6-0, 6 KOs), who will fight Luis Eduardo Pena (6-1, 6 KOs) in a six-rounder. Anderson has three knockout wins inside the Bubble and four first-round stoppages in his young career.
The entire Inoue-Moloney card will stream live on ESPN+ beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET, with the co-feature (Brodnicka-Mayer) expected to start at approximately 10 p.m. ET.
Conceicao (14-0, 7 KOs) turned pro under the Top Rank banner in 2016 after an amateur career that included the Olympic gold medal, more than 400 victories and two World Championship medals. He last fought in August in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and knocked out Eduardo Reis in the second round. Conceicao takes a giant step up in class against Coria (12-3, 7 KOs), a Robert Garcia-trained fighter who is coming off a razor-thin majority decision loss in June against Adam Lopez in one of the year’s best back-and-forth brawls.
In other undercard bouts:
Julian Rodriguez (20-0, 13 KOs) vs. TBA
10 Rounds, Junior Welterweight
“Hammer Hands” Rodriguez is 4-0 with three knockouts since returning from a nearly two-year layoff last July, re-establishing himself as one of the 140-pound division’s top prospects. He made his Bubble debut Aug. 22 and knocked out the previously undefeated Anthony Laureano in the first round. Rodriguez turned pro in 2013 as an 18-year-old, and at 25 years old, is approaching contender status.
Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez (12-0, 8 KOs) vs. TBA
8 Rounds, Light Flyweight
Rodriguez, a 20-year-old southpaw prodigy from San Antonio, Texas, put forth a star-making performance inside the Bubble Sept. 5, knocking down the normally iron-chinned Janiel Rivera three times en route to a first-round stoppage. Trained by Robert Garcia and promoted by Teiken Promotions, Rodriguez has won four straight bouts by stoppage, and his sublime footwork reminds many boxing observers of Vasiliy Lomachenko.
Andy Hiraoka (15-0, 10 KOs) vs. Rickey Edwards (12-4, 3 KOs)
8 Rounds, Junior Welterweight
Hiraoka, a stablemate of Inoue’s from Yokohama, Japan, made his U.S. debut last November and knocked out Rogelio Casarez in two rounds. A former high school distance-running star, the 24-year-old also bested former world title challenger Akihiro Kondo via 10-round decision in July 2019. Edwards, from Paterson, N.J., hopes to snap a two-bout losing skid and pick up his third victory over a previously undefeated prospect.
Andres Cortes (13-0, 7 KOs) vs. George Acosta (10-1, 1 KO)
8 Rounds, Junior Lightweight
Cortes returns for his second Bubble bout nearly four months removed from his July 7 slugfest against Alejandro Salinas. Cortes recovered from a fourth-round knockdown to earn an eight-round unanimous decision. As an amateur, he notched a pair of victories over undisputed lightweight world champion Teofimo Lopez. Acosta, from Long Beach, Calif., has won three consecutive fights since a six-round decision defeat to Ruben Torres.

That's an impressively quick return to the ring from Cortes.
As for the main event, the 29 year old Jason Maloney is certainly no pushover. He's never been stopped and looks like a neat and tidy fighter.
On the other hand most eyes will be on Naoya Inoue, who at 27 is on threshold of global superstardom.
The 'Monster' has spectacularly delivered the goods everywhere else but can he do it on his Sin City debut?

Interesting how one can try to make a racial issue out of this fight......
I guess that's where society has gone. If you don't have a legit explanation must be racism.

Maloney is going in confident. As he should do for a fighter who claims he's never been dropped or seriously hurt.

Bob Arum says Davis-Santa Cruz won’t sell on PPV, talks Inoue-Moloney
The Top Rank promoter isn’t too worried about eyes being off Naoya Inoue on Saturday night.
Naoya Inoue has been in Las Vegas for more than a week, promoter Bob Arum said on Tuesday, and his weight is on target for Saturday’s clash against Jason Maloney, which will stream on ESPN+.
That’s good news, being that the 19-0 “Monster” makes his home in Japan, and no one needs to tell you that COVID has impacted travel plans and fight matchups. But so far so good for the Top Rank main event, set to play out at the MGM Bubble on Halloween night.
“I did a Zoom Monday with his opponent Moloney, the former world title challenger from Melbourne, Australia,” Arum said. “It’s a terrific fight. And if Inoue, defending his WBA and IBF bantamweight world titles, wins, we will figure out if his people want him to do a fight in Japan for New Year’s Eve, or have us do the next fight here.
“We’d get him in the spring. There are plenty of options, like (WBO bantamweight titleholder) John Riel Casimero, and everybody up to 122.”
In the co-feature, unbeaten 2016 U.S. Olympian Mikaela Mayer (13-0, 5 KO) will challenge the Polish WBO female junior lightweight world champion Ewa Brodnicka (19-0, 2 KO), and heavyweight Jared Anderson (6-0, 6 KO) has a fight, too.
Arum is aware there are other entertainment options for sports fans on Saturday. Showtime is trotting out Gervonta Davis vs Leo Santa Cruz on a pay-per-view from Texas. The Bobfather said he’s not worried about the SHO fare. You can pay $49.99 for a year’s subscription to ESPN+, he said, or pony up a premium fee for the Gervonta card.
“Ours, you do have to be a subscriber,” he continued. “They are gonna do no business.”
But Santa Cruz is a viable foe, I pointed out.
“It’s not because it’s not a good fight, but asking people to pay that during the pandemic, it’s ridiculous. The only way pay-per-view works, for forever, is when you can get a bunch of people over your house.”
That option being disabled, and the prevalence of piracy, he said, make it an uphill climb with lead hiking boots.
Business aside, as far as the contest goes, one has to wonder what type of rust effect there might be on Inoue. He was last seeing live fire in Nov. 2019 against Nonito Donaire. It was a harder lift than many assumed it would be, and was that because, I don’t know, he’s reached his athletic peak? 118 is a bit too taxing for him? He’s not a top three pound-for-pounder? Or maybe that Donaire is an A-fighter, with a heart right there with his skill set as a massive plus to his credit?
“Monster” fanatics didn’t like seeing those counters from Donaire get to him. Rips to the body, too, were landing from the seasoned Donaire, who wasn’t put off even a tiny bit by the Inoue hype. Might a fractured eye socket, which did not need surgery, be worrying for the man from Japan? Do we think some of what worked for Nonito, especially that willpower, that intrepid mindset, has been imbued into the twin Moloney?
I don’t expect him to be able to replicate the speed-power-timing-accuracy packaging Inoue saw from Donaire, so mindset is going to be that much more important.
