I think the reason for that is the extent of Chisora's credibility is firmly established. We know his strengths, we know his weaknesses. We know he is limited in his ability to cope with mobile opponents, and we know he is not someone you want to stand and trade with.

He is somewhere between top ten and top twenty five. Exactly where between 10 and 25 is debatable, but most fans respect him for what he is while recognizing that he is someway short of elite level.

Chisora always brings a fight and bounces back immediately with decisive wins.

I have also good hype for Kambosos vs Selby, both young, they have to prove something and sure they will be motivated given Teofimo's status now. It is WBA eliminatory.

I sense Hammer vs Allen is going to be fun.

I can not imagine the way for Chisora's win. Usyk is two levels above him. If lucky punch exists, than Chisora has 2% chances.

Carl Froch says Derek Chisora has proven he ‘doesn’t belong with the big boys at heavyweight ahead of Oleksandr Usyk fight

Former super-middleweight great Carl Froch appeared on talkSPORT with Jim White and Simon Jordan on Thursday and believes Chisora’s record suggests he will be no match for Usyk.

“It’s difficult to assess how Usyk will be at heavyweight because he hasn’t been there long. But such a top quality cruiserweight, it’s hard to write him off against any fighter in any division,” Froch started.

“We need to know what Usyk is going to be like under pressure from a proper heavyweight, someone with size and strength. Chisora has losses against [Dillian] Whyte, [Tyson] Fury, [Kubrat] Pulev, [David] Haye and [Vitali] Klitschko and you’ve got to say – I don’t want to give him any stick or disrespect or anything – but Chisora doesn’t belong with the big boys at heavyweight, does he?

“He’s proven he can’t compete with those top, top lads because he gets beaten every time he steps up in that sense.

“Usyk needs to not only beat Chisora, but he needs to do it in style and make a statement.”

This will be Usyk’s sternest test since stepping up in weight and Froch referenced Evander Holyfield when talking about how difficult it can be to make the move up.

“It took Evander Holyfield a couple of years to grow into heavyweight. Has Usyk got time to do that at 33 years old?

“He looked flawless at cruiserweight and one of the best that division has ever seen. Chisora is going to be the real test because he’s a true heavyweight.

“I struggle to find a win for Chisora here other than a knockout which you can’t rule out, but Usyk should comprehensively outbox him,”
Froch concluded.

I could see Delboy manhandling him, roughing him up, imposing his bulk on Usyk. I don't think he'll win but it's possible and I don't think it would need to be by knockout. Most likely Usyk schools him but he'll have to improve on his Witherspoon performance.

Rough manhandling tactics is the single way for Chisora to win, but I don't see it working. Chisora can be like a bull, but Usyk is a bullfighter. Moreover, Derek had stamina problems, while Usyk is way more durable.

Press Release

Dave Allen will fight Christopher Lovejoy on the undercard of the blockbuster Heavyweight clash between Oleksandr Usyk and Derek Chisora at The SSE Arena, Wembley on Saturday October 31, live on Sky Sports Box Office in the UK and on DAZN in all of its nine markets including the U.S.

Fan favourite Allen was due to make his ring return against Christian Hammer before the German was forced out after testing positive for COVID-19 now meets undefeated Christopher Lovejoy whose 100% KO record from his 19 professional bouts see him ranked in the top 15 with the WBA.

“I’m looking forward to this fight with Chris,” said Allen. “He’s positioned 15th with the WBA and I’d love to take that World ranking. He’s a big, strong man and just look at his record - He’s done what’s been asked of him in those 19 fights. There’s not much footage of him, so I don’t know really know what I’m preparing for which adds to the intrigue but I’m going in there to do a number on him."

"I finally made it here to the U.K!" said Lovejoy. "I'm here to shock the world and show what Chris Lovejoy is really about. Dave will end up number 20 on my record. I've travelled a long way so I just hope he shows up!"

"This is fascinating," added promoter Eddie Hearn. "Here we have this giant in Christopher Lovejoy that has amassed 19 wins with 19 KOs against limited opposition and has somehow found himself in the world top 15. The truth is, he might be an absolute beast or he may get found out but for Dave Allen it’s a huge opportunity. There will be plenty of eyeballs on this fight and if Dave can get the win he will force himself into the World rankings and land a major fight in 2021. I have absolutely no idea what’s going to happen but I’m excited to find out!"

Still holding Usyk above Chisora, but Chisora has been like reborn or something. So not counting the crazy bastard out.

Hoping for a battle or something, don't know. Just has a feel to it. And the fight is meaningfull.

UFC Legend Khabib Nurmagomedov heaps praise on Usyk ahead of Chisora clash

UFC star Khabib Nurmagomedov says he wants to see former Undisputed Cruiserweight World Champion Oleksandr Usyk take on WBC Heavyweight ruler Tyson Fury.

Dana White hailed Russia’s Nurmagomedov as the ‘GOAT’ and pound-for-pound best after he sensationally retired following his second-round stoppage of Justin Gaethje at UFC 254 in Abu Dhabi.

The undefeated Lightweight World Champion is a long-time fan of boxing, and was even spotted ringside for Anthony Joshua’s huge rematch with Andy Ruiz Jr in Saudi Arabia last year, but it is Ukraine’s Usyk he wants to see share the ring with ‘The Gypsy King’, not ‘AJ’.

When asked for his assessment of the sport, prior to Vasiliy Lomachenko’s loss to Teofimo Lopez in Las Vegas, Khabib told reporters: “Right now, I think three guys. Oleksandr Usyk, Vasiliy Lomachenko and Canelo Alvarez.

“Oh sorry, Tyson Fury too. Four guys. It’s very hard [to decide] who is the best.

“I really want to see Usyk vs Fury. It’s gonna be a very good fight. He [Usyk] has very good skill and technique, Tyson Fury too.

“He is not like other Heavyweights, more technique, his footwork is very good, his conditioning is very good, I really wanna watch Usyk against Fury.”

Usyk (17-0, 13 KOs) sits as WBO Mandatory Challenger to Joshua, but must first deal with an in-form Derek Chisora at The SSE Arena Wembley on Saturday, shown live on Sky Sports Box Office in the UK and DAZN in all of its nine markets including the U.S.

Usyk vs. Chisora tops a huge night of action, Lee Selby (28-2, 9 KOs) and George Kambosos Jr (18-0, 10 KOs) meet in a Final Eliminator for the IBF Lightweight World Title, Heavyweight fan favourite Dave Allen (18-5-2, 15 KOs) returns against America’s KO artist Christopher Lovejoy (19-0, 19 KOs), Hartlepool’s Savannah Marshall (8-0, 6 KOs) takes on Glasgow’s Hannah Rankin (9-4, 2 KOs) for the vacant WBO Middleweight World Title, Belfast’s Tommy McCarthy (16-2, 8 KOs) meets Belgium’s Bilal Laggoune (25-1-2, 14 KOs) for the vacant European Cruiserweight Title and Amy Timlin (4-0) faces off with Carly Skelly (3-0) for the vacant Commonwealth Super-Bantamweight Title.

Timlin vs. Skelly joins Usyk-Chisora undercard

Amy Timlin and Carly Skelly will contest the vacant Commonwealth Super-Bantamweight title live on Sky Sports Box Office and DAZN, Saturday 31st October.

The unbeaten pair were scheduled to fight earlier this month but now find themselves on the undercard to Oleksandr Usyk’s monster fight against Derek Chisora.

Rising star Timlin (4-0) is tipped for a bright future, training under the tutelage of Kieran Farrell and managed by Dave Coldwell.

“I’m buzzing for this. I’ve been training throughout lockdown, and I’m ready to go. This fight will push me on; it’s all about learning. The pressure is on her, Carly will come out all guns blazing, but we’ve got a steady game plan. I can’t wait for the first bell; this platform is huge,” revealed Timlin.

“I’m really excited to have Amy on such a massive show like this. Thanks to Eddie for giving us a slot in these testing times. Amy is a fantastic fighter, at 20 years old, I think she’ll show people in the next year or two she is the next generation of flag bearers coming through in Women’s boxing,” said Coldwell.

Southpaw Scouser Skelly (3-0) splits her time working in Children’s nursing, training out of the North Mersey ABC gym, and raising her two young children.

“It’s been a long camp having to juggle things about, but I’ve had some time off recently to concentrate on the fight,” said Skelly. “It’s a massive risk for Amy to take at her age; she won’t have felt power like this from a more mature fighter. This fight opens doors; I believe in myself and want to reach the World level.”

Promoter Eddie Hearn added: “We’ve seen some amazing domestic fights recently in women’s boxing, and this is another cracker. Two unbeaten fighters gunning for a World Title, the winner here will put themselves into contention for just that in 2021.”

Timlin vs. Skelly joins McCarthy vs. Laggoune and Selby vs. Kambosos Jr on the Usyk-Chisora undercard with more additions to be confirmed shortly.

Usyk tko stoppage sometime after 6 rounds of wearing chisora down .

I re watched Usyk v Chazz at the weekend and feel that it will be something along those lines again.

There seems to be a lot of critiscism of Usyks performance in this fight which I reckon is a tad harsh .

I am not buying Hayes hype either that his man is going to show us all something very new and different , he can bang for sure but tends to stomp around which should suit Usyk `s style .

Yep can see a Toney v Evander beat down here. Saw some pics of Del and he still has a gut on him. I know, I know it's not a body building competition but Ustk will be fit. Once Del is knackered, and he will be., the culmative effect of punches taken will finish him off. In addition, I am not sure that Del being super fit makes him works class anyway.

I agree with this.

A lot has been made of Chisora being much heavier and bigger (if not taller), but a lot of Chisora's weight is unnecessary weight.

I thought when he teamed up with Haye that he'd finally lose this excess blubber and come in around the 230s, but it doesn't seem that way.

Maybe Haye is working on the proviso that you can't teach an old dog new tricks and that is fair I suppose, but he can't expect Chisora to be any better on that basis.

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m becoming increasingly frustrated about having to pay extra, via a PPV, for only moderately decent matchup’s.

And I’m not entirely convinced this situation is solely caused by the COVID-19 pandemic either, because it’s been happening for the last few years.

The undercard for the Usyk-Chisora PPV is relatively weak, and the main event is a borderline mismatch.

Let’s face it, within the last nine years, the Brit has tasted defeat nine times throughout 27 outings. And I don’t think I need to say too much about Usyk’s accomplishments, do I?

For sure, the Chisora might be competitive for the first few rounds, because Usyk is usually a slow starter, but that doesn’t deter me from considering this as being a borderline mismatch, because the overall narrative of the bout is far too predictable.

So I probably won’t watch this fight live.

Am I the only person that frequents this forum that feels this way?

I'm gonna watch.. but I ain't paying..

Selby vs. Kambosos looks to be a decent fight.
Not at all ppv though this card.

Yeh, it's been going on for ages. They're just kind of using covid as an excuse they can. Talking about how it makes up for gate revenue.

Bullshit.

Like someone else said, other sports stars are not losing out on money. not taking pay cuts. I know boxers are not on a fixed annual salary, but part of contracts they are usually guaranteed a base purse etc.

Matchroom's contract with Sky, means Sky gives Hearn a certain amount of money each year to put on cards don't they?

It's not like he's put on more shows thisn year and spread himself thin..

Yeah, you're right.

And let's not forget that Matchroom are now receiving more funding for their events, because any fight cards covered by Sky are also broadcast on DAZN as well.

Guess the weights of Chizza and Usyk before the weigh-in. See who is closest

My guess Chizza 17st 4lb, Usyk 16st 2lbs.
