In terms of uk based PPV it has to be I think. A journeyman heavyweight in the main event, a good quality Commonwealth type title fight as chief support and pretty much very low level standard below that.

A master stroke for everyone who makes money tonight but the long term harm to the industry will eventually be felt as long term fans and potential new fans drift away.

It’ll be interesting to see how the wider industry reacts to this. I don’t read boxing news anymore and the various YouTube channels aren’t much more than cheerleaders for the big promotional companies and top end fighters. Added to that the national papers don’t really have dedicated boxing jurnos anymore. Has the industry become so compliant that trash like this will be able to pass with barely a murmur. It’ll be interesting to see

On paper, it’s the worst by an absolute mile.

PPV will continue to get worse until people wise up and stop buying them some people seem to think that sky bt Hearn and Warren listen to and act on complaints etc 😂 the only language they will understand is to hit them in the pocket they will definitely understand that

100%. Luckily I’ve got a decent stream, otherwise I wouldn’t be watching out of principle as much as I’m a Usyk fan.

I don’t remember it being but I could be wrong on that score.

Mitchell v Prescott was chief support and, at the time, it was seen as a really big statement for Mitchell to box the way he did that night

Pretty sure it was ppv. Went to my mates to watch it and he smashed the tv screen with the remote. Can’t remember if it was before or after the Khan fight ?

This is absolutely dreadful. If you paid for it, you deserve buyers remorse!

Yep - as was Khan vs Prescott and Eubank Jr vs Quinlan.

This is the worst Sky PPV for a while though.

Both those undercards were significantly better.
Both the main events were significantly worse.

Also the Khan vs Prescott wasn’t significantly better. All bar one undercard fight were predictable one sided fights. The only undercard fight of note was a standard FW WBO title fight between Alex Arthur & Nicky Cook. A decent fight on paper but wasn’t a good watch.

What has even been remotely passable on this undercard? I’m sorry but no ones convinced me yet that this isn’t as bad as we’ve ever had over here

I’m not saying today’s undercard has been good. As I said before it’s the worst U.K. PPV for a while. My point is that some people have short memories when it comes to PPVs and this isn’t the first PPV to have a shite undercard.

The European cruiserweight title match was good and I enjoyed seeing Savannah Marshall fight - still doesn’t detract from it being a poor undercard.

Fair enough. I’ve not seen the Cruiser fight.

The Marshall match up was embarrassing though. I’ve seen Hannah fight a few times and while she’s a tough bugger game as hell she is exceptionally limited. She didn’t have a hope in hell of winning tonight - real mismatch

I paid £20.95 for it. This main event needs to be good because I don't feel like I've got my money's worth so far.

Listened to build up on Talksport and comms on 5Live. Didn't feel this was a PPV. The "headline" should be supporting to someting bigger/better IMO.

It’s been good on 5 live.

Buncey has been entertaining, Dillian Whyte his usual entertaining self, Costello brilliant as always

I enjoyed the main event and if I'm honest that's what I paid for, so I'll go to bed happy :TU:
