Re: Oleksandr Usyk vs. Derek Chisora - October 31, 2020
Usyk keeps moaning to the ref about legit body blows.
Sky’s pundits picked up on this during their pre-fight analysis.
It really does seem to be a chink in his armour.
And I guess he isn’t experienced at being on the receiving end of body blows, due to his marvellous footwork and lateral movement.
Usyk doesn’t look good enough to beat AJ or Fury though.
He’s incredibly skillful and busy though.

118:110 Usyk. He’ll be a force to be reckoned at HW vs any of the smaller guys.

Re: Oleksandr Usyk vs. Derek Chisora - October 31, 2020
I gave Chisora one round, but a few of them were tricky to score.
The fight pretty much met my expectations, because it was a mismatch, but Chisora did slightly better than what I expected.

117-112; 2 x 115-113
I guess the judges weren’t impressed by Usyk’s negativity, hence the close scorecards.
Perhaps too much running and feather-fisted blows.
I had the fight much wider.

Great pace by Usyk. It would be deadly to run out of gas against someone like Chisora.
Not sure what Whyte and AJ will make of it but Usyk is definitely a force at heavyweight.
To beat him they'll need to stop him, but can they? Can anyone?

No chisora clearly won 4 rounds but the best man won
Re: Oleksandr Usyk vs. Derek Chisora - October 31, 2020
The scoredcards sucked. It should be not closer than 117-111.
Re: Oleksandr Usyk vs. Derek Chisora - October 31, 2020
Usyk did feel the pressure and Chisora didn't gasout as bad.
Still Usyk did some bullfighting.

I think he was moaning about Chisora holding him either with a hook around the waist or locking his arm while he punches with the other arm. He did that all fight.

He might have done well for 1 minute of a few rounds, but overall lost rounds.

Re: Oleksandr Usyk vs. Derek Chisora - October 31, 2020
those were some extremely favourable cards for chisora (just like pulev fight)
11-1 usyk for me, at best chis won 3 rounds
I like usyk, the best or one of the best skills at hw, sure the power/size might be an issue vs the top dudes but it's nice to have him

I had 118-110, two rounds could go either way. I don't see how Chisora wins more than three rounds, most of them early on. He did well in round 9 too but he stopped boxing for half-rounds and sometimes full rounds, you can't win those rounds.
I agree Usyk gets hit a lot and doesn't have power. But no one is going to bully him more than Chisora....Chisora did that because he knew that was all he had. Everyone else will rely more on skill, even the guys bigger than Chisora.

Re: Oleksandr Usyk vs. Derek Chisora - October 31, 2020
Boring fight.
Tyson Fury beats Usyk with ease.
But Usyk would be a stylistic nightmare for Joshua and Whyte.
Usyk is phenomenally skilful, but his lack of power, excessive lateral movement and negativity will go against him during competitive rounds, since the judges usually favour the heavy handed aggressor.
My opinion of Usyk is really weird. I’m impressed and unimpressed at the same time.
He needs to deliver a better performance against a top-ten heavyweight, which Chisora wasn’t, before I believe in Usyk’s chances against the top guys.

Yh, is the judges were any more blind, it would have been a majority draw.SportsRatings wrote: ↑31 Oct 2020, 20:06I had 118-110, two rounds could go either way. Bellew claimed Usyk moaned about body shots. Other pundits notice it too during other bouts.SportsRatings wrote: ↑31 Oct 2020, 20:02I think he was moaning about Chisora holding him either with a hook around the waist or locking his arm while he punches with the other arm. He did that all fight.
Three occasions tonight whereby Usyk moaned to the ref about Chisora’s body shots that didn’t involve any holding.
Don’t get me wrong, Usyk is phenomenal, but flawed. Most heavyweights are the same in that respect.
Watch the end of the first round, Usyk moans to the ref about an alleged low blow that was a legit body shot.
Watch it and tell me my interpretation is wrong.

Yeah, that’s a tad silly.
