Chisora’s chief second

Post by Wales »

Did anyone else find it odd that Chisora / his team decided to appoint the Strength and Conditioning coach, Ruben Tabares, as the chief second for the Usyk fight?

Granted Tabares has worked with a few fighters as their S&C coach, but personally I can’t understand the decision to have him as the main voice in Del Boys corner?!?

Was no point him having a trainer at all with the Matchroom flowerpot men shouting constant instructions at him for 12 rnds.

This will sound odd but I was missing Don Charles during fightweek and tonight. He would have been a good character. The situation was pretty funny, everyone shouting at Chisora and Usyk just routinely beating him while they are shouting instructions in the background.

I listened on 5 Live. They had Dillian Whyte on between rounds.

He was very unimpressed with the corner work. Think he felt Chis would have won with better advice (more body shots).

BBC did a good job last night. Whyte didn't add value though.

I listened on the radio too, sounded like Chisora did OK for a round or two but then it was pretty much all Usyk after that (as most people expected).

I like Whyte, but he was hesitant to give Usyk any real credit and spent the whole night slagging off Del's corner.

Bunce is a douche though.
Where was Woodhall? he usually provides a good level head.

Don't know if he would off won , but been closer definetly ,,, could'nt believe my ears when his trainer said , box him , use your jab and box him . , foook sake youv'e got a heavy plodder with limited skills and your telling him to try and outbox a great boxer with more speed and skills ,,, Should of been , DO what you done in rnd 1 push him back , rough him up and bang away to the body ,, fook sake if you need too, pick the ref up and throw him at Usyk , but for gods sake get on his chest and rough him up

Is Whyte forgetting that he has just been knocked out so badly that they didn't even bother administering a count.

The guy needs to wind his neck in.
