I only gave Chisora the 1st round.
Usyk outclassed him.

It is bizarre.
The fight was competitive for the first 6 rounds, Uysk survived them on chin mostly.
I was very pleased with Chisora up until the 7th when his cardio let him down. That's just lack of prep.
But from R7 it was clear the direction the fight was headed. Chisora had his moments, but by then Uysk had figured him out, and Del had nothing new to offer.

Did Chisora even catch him that cleanly in the whole fight ?
Thought the bodyshots were his best punches .
Del just plodded around just a little faster than normal and twice spun himself right around throwing wildly for extra effect .
Admire his fortitude , but you could only give him a case for 3 rounds max .
Wasn't totally sold with Usyk either and he just looks flat to me at heavyweight .

I didn’t even notice Uysk having his chin tested at all?

Yeah, like I wrote, I had the first 6 rounds competitively fought, as in 3-3.
And I agree with you about Usyk.
That fight showed he can't start slowly with big punchers. Chisora isn't that big a puncher and he clipped Usyk a few times early. Usyk has a good chin, and it held up to Chisora - which is fine on the outer 10-20 HW's, but may not be inside the top 8 or so.

First 3 rounds he got caught 2 or 3 times, only looked stunned once though. But this is Del Boy @36 years old.

And Haye. Haye has been related to a Yes man. It’s in Hayes’s best interest to keep the Del Boy train rolling.

On a serious note though. Del has more nights in him.

I didn't score the fight as I honestly didn't think it would go the distance but I'm going to make sure I watch it again and score it.
On the night I thought Chisora started well and Usyk looked genuinely rattled. There's no doubt that the right man won but I don't think it was as easy as some were saying and I think that 115-113 was there or thereabouts.

I had it a draw, neither man really did enough. Turn off the biased OTT Smith commentary making out Usyk has some godlike skills etc, he looked very ordinary to me, needs to bulk up and get some power to stand a chance with Fury and Joshua. Chizza should probably call it a day, he's been a good servant to British boxing, we salute you Chizza :salut:

perhaps but he is getting fights that some might think should be going to joyce / dubois / and so on down the food chain .

For me its time for del boy to retire before he does get a damn good hiding from someone tasty .

a bit rattled in the first 2, just don't see how he had any issues after that. chizzer lost his steam and usyk danced around him and peppered him, chis mainly just swung and missed like a drunk

I had it 118-110 to Usyk. To suggest chisora won is hideous. Ill admit I had the luxury of those slow motion shots of the Usyk combos landing clean during the intra round highlights, I didnt see much of Chisoras work landing clean.

I noticed how slow Dereck was when in with a lighter fighter, not so niticable when both lads are 18 stone plus.

Id like to see Usyk add an extra 4 kg to tip the 16 stone mark then he would be ready for anyone. But would he lose his biggest assets then?

But he is seriously talented.

i agree i thought del boy won the first few rds . but i kinda expected it as i thought usyk was wanting to bring it in to later rds yea the i think if usyk had laned earlier in the 7th he could had got chisora out of there, i thought usyk won by 3rds boxed well tough fight but felt he was in control . del boy obvious trainned very hard and made it hard for him,

Ya about same as i saw it, i've watched some it back and still perplexed as to how anyone thought it was at all close or that usyk had any problem after the first 2, i almost felt sorry for del at points given how hard he was trying but how bad he was missing and getting peppered with slaps in return

after the first couple the best he could really muster was when they'd clinch and he'd cuff usyk around the side and not really land but still be able to move him about with roughing somewhat

i mean sure usyk was doing a lot of slapping, but how many rounds can you really give del when del is swinging and missing like a drunk. sometimes he was missing by like 6 feet or completely spinning around he missed so hard

i dont think usyk had prolems mag i think he just started slowly in terms of moving in and out clenching feeling chisora out whereing him down , in my eyes he gave the early rds away, he was always in control of the fight i thought he had an another gear but didnt use it ,and got a little tired after 10 won by a few rds i thought ,i think if need to be he could of stepped it up

He's simply not a 2020 heavyweight, Fury throws him around like a ragdoll and mauls him out of there in a few rounds.

of course he is a HW !
thats a ridiculous thing to say .. by that logic anyone who cant beat Fury is not a HW .
I am a big Usyk fan - do I expect him to beat either Fury or AJ ? no not at all however I would love to see the fights from a boxing perspective .
Personally seeing Fury " throwing people around like ragdolls " is not what I want to see , let them box !

people saying usyk got no power in his hands just don't have a clue about boxing/punching. period.

usyk is on his toes constantly, darting in & out of reach, ever changing angles to catch his opponent off guard with fast combinations.

if he would plant his feet, 'load up' on single power shots and put more of his bodyweight them by turning his hips & 'sit down on' his punches, he would definitely generate more 'knockout' power!

ask bellew if usy is 'featherfisted'?
he caught him and a couple of others clean and heavy enough when the time was right so that they were out/unable to continue. it wasn't the accumulation of punches that forced the stoppage. it was a heavy, clean cimbnation right on the spot. he's so technically sound to put more power in his shots when he decides to do so.

why would he risk to be a sitting target and catch a bomb with his chin against a heavy handed slugger like chisora in the last round of a fight he's clearly winning?

Usyk won that fight very clearly. Outmoved and boxed Chisora. Del boy gave his usual plodding effort, but Usyk far superior and very impressive fitness.

Working for BBC Radio 5, Buncey's summary was accurate. Both him and Costello made Hearn rethink when he spoke to them after the fight.

Yes I agree.
Usyk may not have the dynamite KO power of the stereotypical perfect heavyweight. But when you are as technically good, and able to place punches accurately, then any trained boxer around 15st is gonna possess a punch hard enough to hurt you.
Usyk makes no pre fight intention to Ko opponents, he is a boxer who aims to out box them, if they fall apart as Tony Bellend did and can't make it the full 12rnds then that's merely a bonus.

I think too many people are giving Joshua and Fury too much credit based merely on their size difference. Joshua is big and strong, but limited as Frank Bruno was; Joshua fights by numbers and I don't think it's too difficult to imagine Usyk avoiding and outboxing him for 12rnds .. would anyone be surprised if Usyk timed Joshua coming in and had him all bendy-legged?
Fury is more awkward an opponent because of his size and unorthodox approach .. but I think a very orthodox approach is a way to beat him.
