Hearn: Maybe Wilder gets the 50/50 split with Joshua in the end
“One thing I will give Wilder credit for is his profile — going back from when this fight was first offered last summer or something like that...his value now is considerably higher than it was back then...Maybe they get that [50/50 split] in the end, I don’t know. Maybe he goes out and has a Fight of the Year against Breazeale, like gets off the deck and comes back and becomes an American hero...”
Just make the freakin' fight!

You know I'm a huge Wilder fan. But 60-40 is fair. But the best I see him getting even if he defeats Fury in a rematch is 55-44oogiebe wrote: ↑10 Apr 2019, 18:07 “One thing I will give Wilder credit for is his profile — going back from when this fight was first offered last summer or something like that...his value now is considerably higher than it was back then...Maybe they get that [50/50 split] in the end, I don’t know. Re: Hearn: Maybe Wilder gets the 50/50 split with Joshua in the end
In the end it isn't a question of what he is worth, it is a question of what Matchroom/Joshua are willing to pay to get the extra belt. If Wilder continues to defend it then he probably will get 50/50 in the end, but heavyweight boxing is a risky business, he may lose out on the monster purse by catching a shot from someone before it happens.
A further contractual issue is likely to be when 50/50 is agreed but with a 50/50 rematch clause and whichever side is more confident argue that a rematch is not Champion v Champion but rather Champion v Alreadybeatenopponent so should be 70/30 or whatever.

Re: Hearn: Maybe Wilder gets the 50/50 split with Joshua in the end
For me, it does not matter what we think or say, or what Eddie thinks or says surely as one they have said "Maybe he is worth the 50-50", as they have and there was also that backstage interview weeks ago with Barry saying the same, and once it is said, Wilder is justified to hold the stance that he should have it.
It even gives a retrospective justification to Wilder saying in the first instance that this was a 50-50 fight, certainly makes him 100% right for rejecting all the offers last year.
Cannot say "maybe you should get this.......but you won't". Negotiating from a weaker stance but obviously not position (as they still hold more cards)

50/50 may be fair if Joshua only puts one of his belts up for grabs

Joshua: Wilder Admitted It, We Made Him a Lucrative Offer
IBF, WBA, WBO, IBO heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has reacted to the recent statements made on social media by division rival, Deontay Wilder.
In a series of social media messages directed to WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, it was revealed by Wilder that he was offered more money to face Joshua but lived up to a promise to fight Fury in a rematch - after they had fought to a controversial twelve round split draw in December 2018.
"You know I was offered more money to fight Joshua than I was getting to fight you. Again being a man of my word, I fought you," Wilder stated on social media.
According to Joshua, his division rival finally revealed the truth about their financial discussions.
"It makes the ultimate sense. It's hard because at the time when people are talking and you see lots of media stuff, you start to believe what that person is saying," Joshua told Sky Sports.
"When time goes by, naturally the truth will always reveal itself. I get a lot of stick but I take it with a pinch of salt. He admitted it. We made him a lucrative offer but he wanted to face Fury. So be it. If that's what he wanted to do, fine. But he dragged my name through the mud.
"While Wilder was trying to make me look like a bad person, that I didn't want to enhance the sport, or fight certain fighters, I just had to roll with the punches. He has come out and said it himself. We offered him a really good deal but he wanted to fight Fury. People can take it how they want, and see what the truth is now."

Who would want to fight wilder now? As Johnny Nelson said he is the who needs him club,he is too dangerous a puncher for anyone to want to fight him,he should of fought Joshua for massive money when he was offered it cause if he had lost at least he would of had a skip load more cash in the bank.

Usyk v Parker is a fight id enjoy but where do you put that. Surely the biggest fanbase is actually in New Zealand. The fanbase there outdoes Ukraine or Germany surely? I guess just a question if a fight between two foreigners does well in America between these two. I suspect not.
Re: Hearn: Maybe Wilder gets the 50/50 split with Joshua in the end
It would fit well into the narrative that Usyk is the guy that consistently gives up home advantage and fights his opponents in their back yards where the deck is stacked against him. Just look at all the bizarre crap recently with his fight against Chisora for example, where Dereck was always in the fight just because of his sheer will and size advantage, but a truly fair scorecard would give him 3 rounds at most. Yet you've got Hearn and his cronies having Del winning!jameswilson wrote: ↑04 Nov 2020, 10:26Parker’s ahead of Dubois in the rankings isn’t he.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑04 Nov 2020, 09:17Dubois or Parker would fight Usyk.stevec@france wrote: ↑04 Nov 2020, 08:22 wilder now way down the peckin order ..

Na DDD leapfrogged parker for beating Ricardo Snijders witch is clearly madness. But parker fights Fa (WBO number 6), so logic would tell you he will leap back, But frank warrens relation with WBO tells me somehow DDD will hold onto it.jameswilson wrote: ↑04 Nov 2020, 10:26Parker’s ahead of Dubois in the rankings isn’t he.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑04 Nov 2020, 09:17Dubois or Parker would fight Usyk.stevec@france wrote: ↑04 Nov 2020, 08:22 wilder now way down the peckin order ..

If joyce wins it gets a bit interesting though. parker is the best fight fo me but If WBO goes vacant, Id injoy watching Usyk vs any of them in a 12 round title fight to be fair.

Dubois is the most overrated fighter on this board. He's a 6'4" (I don't believe his official height)over- muscled can crusher who looks the part but hasn't beaten anybody of note, trained by shady murderous gangsters whereas Joyce is a legit 6'6" guy who is naturally huge (his gargantuan size is his natural frame) with an impressive amateur background with wins over highly touted prospects and professional wins over properly seasoned ex contenders. I'll keep repeating this but Joyce was robbed of his Olympic gold, whereas golden boy Joshua was beaten by Savon and only made it to the final because the Olympics was in the UK. They both seem nice lads but Joyce has a head like a bag of cement, a relentless engine, and can actually box despite all his detractors. I'm sticking with my refunded bet of Joyce by KO. Why stick Dubois in with all these crappy fighters to build his record if he's so good? Fwank got it terribly wrong with Maccarinalli against Haye and I think we'll see a repeat of it here. I'll be betting again.gregregegg wrote: ↑04 Nov 2020, 19:05Na DDD leapfrogged parker for beating Ricardo Snijders witch is clearly madness. I was ringside for the Joshua Savon fight and myself and everyone nearby thought AJ lost clearly. I didn't think Joshua won the final either, so as far as I am concerned he lost 2 bouts in that Olympics.dbf wrote: ↑05 Nov 2020, 06:37I was ringside for the Joshua Savon fight and myself and everyone nearby thought AJ lost clearly. Re: Hearn: Maybe Wilder gets the 50/50 split with Joshua in the end
From memory the final against Cammarelle was close, and I can't recall having a problem with the result at the time (although I've never watched it back, so I can't make a proper argument either way) but the Savon fight was a hometown robbery and Joshua shouldn't have been in that final anyway. I'm not knocking AJ's achievements as a pro but he has certainly had the deck stacked in his favour right from the Olympics and the disrespect towards Joyce, who was a far more legitimate amateur, shown by hardcore boxing fans sticks in my craw. And for that reason I'll continue to be an outspoken defender of the bloke. The fact that both Fury and AJ see enough in him to have him in as one of their chief sparring partners for high profile bouts (AJ most recently)says enough to me: he gives them work and he's good.Roco wrote: ↑05 Nov 2020, 13:42I didn't think Joshua won the final either, so as far as I am concerned he lost 2 bouts in that Olympics.dbf wrote: ↑05 Nov 2020, 06:37I was ringside for the Joshua Savon fight and myself and everyone nearby thought AJ lost clearly.
