Could someone explain how WBA superfeather title switched hands between Jezzrel Corrales and Gervonta Davis?
Why Corrales in July of 2017 fought for the real title against Robinson Castellanos an won, but then
instead of making next defense he fought for the secondary (regular) title against Machado?
And based on what the next fight for the real WBA title was between Gervonta Davis and Jesus Cuellar?
I would understand if Corrales went to the next weight and the title became vacant. But he did not...
For some strange reason he switched from fighting for World Boxing Association Super World Super Feather Title
to fighting for World Boxing Association World Super Feather Title (the secondary one).
And then when Gervonta Davis fought Jesus Cuellar (04/2018) less than a year passed since the last title fight, but their fight is not for "vacant title".
Something happened outside the ring here... But what exactly?

Re: Could someone explain
Corrales lost his "Super" title on the scales after failing to make weight for the Machado fight. Machado then won the vacant "Super" title, but was randomly downgraded to "Regular" champion sometime in 2018, with Davis vs. Cuellar being set for the then vacant "Super" title (sanctioning bodies are corrupt and Mayweather has a lot of money, so, yea).
I'm not sure why they have Corrales vs. Machado as being for the "Regular" title though, or why Davis vs. Cuellar isn't listed as the vacant title. They need correcting.

That "randomly downgraded" I can't understand. On what ground? So what if Corrales did not make weight? It would've been important in case he would've won. But he lost.

Corrales vs. Machado is incorrectly listed as being for the vacant "Regular" title, it should be the vacant "Super" title. The reason it's vacant is because Corrales was stripped of the title for failing to make weight. There's a note that states the title was only on the line for Machado.
It was Machado who was later downgraded by the WBA to "Regular" champion (after defeating Corrales for the "Super" title). Why? I'm not sure if anybody knows except those directly involved in the decision. But the general consensus is that the WBA (who probably received some kind of "donation") downgraded Machado in order to allow Davis vs. Cuellar to be for the then vacant "Super" title (which is also incorrectly listed as not being vacant).

The WBA were doing WBA things. Nothing else.

Plus, we normally do not list "Super" or "interim titles" as vacant because if we would, that would implicate that these titles HAVE to be occupied, which is not the case. There does not necessarily have to be a Super or interim titlist, only a regular champion.
