Mike Tyson better than Holyfield

Post by vitalyjohnson »

If Mike Tyson stayed with Cus and Kevin Ronney, maybe the best???

Mike won the heavyweight title 21 years old and unified it.

He was bored against Douglas.

He knocked Douglas out with long count. He would still be undefeated.

Then he went to jail. What if no. He would still be good.

He lost to Holyfield and Lewis when he was bored. If excited, he would win!

One of Tyson best matches vs Golota. Golota is underrated. Nice punch by Mike hurt Andrew's eye.

Mike should have stayed with Ronney.

Troll post. It's hard to tell with Tyson fanatics because they sound like trolls but I suspect you are mocking here.

He had lots of bad things happen to him. If he had better life and did steroids like Evander Real Deal, what do you think? I am not sure but Iron Mike was amazing.

PUH-lease. Iron Mike was champion while Real Deal was still amateur. Youngest champion ever and punched harder than TANK ABBOTT.

Don King ruined Mike. Mike had hard life. He's gonna start comeback vs Roy Jones Jr.

Don't know what thatch means but Iron Mike had storied career. Fought himself out of the ghetto.

Pounded cocky Larry Holmes.

Excuses Excuses, no version of Tyson would of ever beaten Holyfield. The latter clashed with Tyson at an Olympic Training camp in the early 80s and turned his tail right in front of Manny Steward.

To quote his nutty mentor Cus, he lacked Character and Mental Toughness. He Succumbed to the Fire because he could not control his fears.

Holyfield was better than Tyson any which way you can measure it.

Head to head with him. He's 2-0.

He beat better fighters than Tyson ever did.

Won the Heavyweight Championship or a version of it more times than Tyson did.

Was more competitive with or outright beat the people that Tyson couldn't.

Holyfield all day, every day using even the most basic kinda logic.

He would've beaten Razor Ruddock easier. He might've beaten Buster Douglas. He still would've lost to Holyfield.

Sounds about right. However, it's tough to predict the Douglas bout in this case just acknowledging how Douglas looked that night actually.

True. Douglas would've been a problem for him anyhow that night. He was ready, and he had all the dimensions to give Tyson problems whatever the case.

But Tyson wouldn't have half assed his training, and he wouldn't have had people trying to heal his swollen eye with a glove

He's ready to get up at 4 or 5. Wisely took his time, Listened to the count, and took the extra few seconds to further clear his head, and continue dominating.

I've seen it multiple times. Nothing the least bit controversial there. Just Tyson fans really wishing their guy could've won.

How bout the tons of steroids Real Deal had taken?

Mike had a lot of bad circumstances. He is one of the best ever.

Mike was champ, age 20. Youngest ever. Then Cus died and Kevin Ronney stopped training him. Teddy Atlas threatened to shoot him with gun.

Mike could have been best. He hit like a mule kick.

The Discipline to stay in top shape, and get the best out of your abilities is just as important as your natural gifts.

Holyfield had more discipline than him by miles. Tyson needed a coach to force the discipline on him. Holyfield demanded it of himself.

What about Holyfield's headbutts? He got away with 'em didn't he? That's a skill.

Tyson was the 3rd best fighter of his own era.

I don't think he's Top 10 of all time, but you could make a case for Top 15.

I'd say, Tyson was in two eras. The late 80s and the 90s - early 2000s had different pictures. In the first era Tyson was #1, in the second one he was #4 for me.
