Bilal Fawaz - fascinating story
Bilal Fawaz - fascinating story
Another great piece by the one and only Donald McRae that I thought was worth sharing. Fawaz comes across as a really good fella, so really hopes he gets a break:

Thanks for sharing Deserter. At 32 years old time isn’t on his side but I pray he can become a success.
Already one hell of a story!

He's a positive man, looking at his training I'm not sure he has a great pro style, he'll have to be moved along quite quickly, be interesting how he does.

Lads had some bad luck.
Re: Bilal Fawaz - fascinating story
Best of luck to him, another good article by McCrae.
Re: Bilal Fawaz - fascinating story
Glad it's resonated with you and a few others mate as his story genuinely touched me. Incredible that he's managed to stay positive in the face of all that adversity.black panther wrote: ↑09 Nov 2020, 11:00 Thanks for sharing Deserter. British champion and he’s not even got a British citizenship.
Crazy.
Is Eddie still helping him push this?

McRae and Hauser are the two best boxing writers there are imo
Re: Bilal Fawaz - fascinating story
Obviously I'm just thinking out loud but what do you reckon of Bilal against Bakhram Murtazaliev?
The Russian hasn't fought in 10 months & hasn't won a fight in two years (Tszyu has fought FIVE times since Murta destroyed him). He fought for Eddie last time out so come on Hearn, get your wallet out & make a big fight for the lad.
