Hey oogie, nice to see you here. It's me dag, I'm back. Thanks for voting, despite it's just a quick vote, your list looks reasonable :TU:
Glad to see you're back! I missed you!!! *sniff*
I guess that everyone, who spent some time on here but got banned or left for some reason, goes back one day, sooner or later. :maybe: I hope to see some eccentric votes of Yours again (like when you've voted Huck to #13 and left Hunter outside the list  ) so we can discuss about it :TU: In fact, I couldn't find any better place to discuss about boxing.
Huck?! Me? :maybe:

Yeah, it was quite surprising (or even shocking). I'm not weird/crazy/autistic enough to remember all votes or all posts on the forum, but this one was kind of memorable for me  Probably it's my turn to make some weird voting decision soon :maybe: I miss my boy Kownacki on the list :verysad:

Forum ranking is back :yay:

My favorite thing in boxrec is back online :TU:

I was planning on doing one time ranking vote after the big fights on years end.

I would have run the rankings my self if I had the time for it. With two small kids at home and demanding job I really don't have time for anything.

Well Dag was running it better than I ever could anyways :salut:

I will post my list after I have given it a bit of thought. Not easy to rank them currently. Usyk for example is really hard one. As you can see from the other votes.

The talent gap from #4 to 15 is not much. As such I'm going with upside as very few on the list have beaten top ranked opponents.

1. Joshua -Sill the class.
2. Fury - Fight somebody, please
3. Usyk - Could out box most, tougher and durable than most.

4.. Ruiz jr - Ranking depends on him being in shape by his standards
5. Hrgovic - Here's your next champion. Bettered Haye and Dubious in the gym. Before that Wilder as a kid.
6. Povetkin - He's old but earns this spot
7. Joyce - I think he stops Dubois. If Dubois wins he makes the list.
8. Wilder - An aging and mentally broken man this is a gift spot.. He could crash off the list in his next fight.
9. Pulev - Another old man from a generation retired, he's still good enough to rate in these weak times.
10. Parker - If he had more aggression, he could rate higher.

11. Whyte - In his prime and can punch.
12. Hunter jr - A solid boxer type who lacks power, Could be the best current USA heavyweight.
13. Ortiz - Another old man rates, thanks to lack of depth
14. Makhmudov - The most heavy handed guy I've seen in 20 years. Durable too.
15. Yoka - A very tall and skilled boxer, he has enough to shield his suspect chin for now.

Glad someone (dag!) started this thread.

I've been wondering if I should post one up the other week. But been busy with work and study.

Just after the Fury II and Helenius v Kownacki fights I collected votes from a load of posters from both boards, and averaged everything out.

I'll look for the list and post it up if you want?

It might be a good idea to use that as a starting point (it will save some leg work) then vote based on:

Whyte v Povetkin
Usyk v Chisora
Ortiz v Flores
Yoka v Duhaupas (?)

This was the results from 23 votes back in March 2020. It might be good to use it as a starting point for voting on the three recent fight I mentioned above, or if you would like to incorporate the excel file, I can email it to you. The excel file goes down to a top 31 (though it doesn't include Yoka).

Personally I might suggest using the below list as a starting point, and then we vote on the recent big fights, as I don't think anyone can justify Hunter at 8, given he only just broke into the top 10 in March 2020, and is only on people's minds through calling out everyone the past month. And as much as I like Usyk, does beating Chisora (who was ranked 12) in a close contest really catapult him to 5th?

The (dagilechia memorial) Boxrec Forum Heavyweight Top 15:

1. 🇬🇧 Tyson Fury - 30(21) 0 1

2. 🇬🇧 Anthony Joshua - 23(21) 1(1) 0

3. 🇺🇸 Deontay Wilder - 42(41) 1(1) 1

4. 🇬🇧 Dillian Whyte - 27(18) 1(1) 0

I'll think about using it as a starting point but then, first of all, I need to check out exactly how much past fights need voting. If it's too much, it gonna be problematic (especially for the voters, I think).

Yeah, we didn't get so far with it.
Basically, we voted, I compiled the results.

Then Covid-19 happened.

So the list wasn't used for any votes.

But it is interesting that Kabayel wasnt on many posters' radar in March and so was down at #24. Though perhaps #15 is a fairer reflection of his level...

If I remember well, he was voted to #15 too in November 2019, so it makes it even more strange. We have only 9 votes so far, let's see where he ends up, though I don't think that he will be lower than #20.

I am big Povetkin fan too, but wouldn't rank him at #1 now when he is 41 and looking vulnerable. Anyway, Your vote counts :TU:

Finally found the time for this :yay:

I am basing my rankings on who the guys have beaten. On my score cards. Newer guys will get to my list when they get the actual wins to prove their place. Learned my lesson from Price

1. Tyson Fury

Has the best wins on hes resume for recent years. Wlad was great win. Wilder is pretty good win too. Twice on my books.

2. Anthony Jsohua.

Has good list of wins also. The loss to Ruiz and tentative win from rematch pushes him behind Fury for me.

3. Andy Ruiz

Has the best single win from recent years. I hope he gets good fights soon. I had him winning the Parker fight.

4. Povetkin.

Has only losses against the best guys out there. Great win for him in Whyte who I ranked really highly before hes loss to Povetkin.

5. Usyk

Dominated cruiser. Gassiev and Briedis would be good HW fighters too. Hunter has done pretty well too. Draw with Povetkin is good result. Usyk beating Chisora proved that he can hang with the big guys in HW. Not many will press you like Chisora does. Remains to be seen how well he actually does. I am looking forward to it.

6. Wilder.

Lacks good wins. Two losses to Fury and the second one was decisive. Not coping well with the loss. Lets see if he can bounce back.

7. Whyte

Good wins in recent years. Getting caught against good boxer in Povetkin is no disaster. He will get back on the track.

8. Parker

Has the skills to get higher on this list. Got bit unlucky against Whyte. Lost because of the head clash. Well loss is a loss so I rank hime behind Whyte for now. Fa is not going to affect this really. If he wins that is. And he should.

9. Pulev

I used to rank him much higher. Way too inactive for better ranking now. AJ fight will tell us more. If he makes it competitive I will rank him higher. I think he will.

10. Hunter

Hes solid fighter. Got my respect from the Povetkin fight. I hope to see him fight more good names in the near future.

11. Chisora

Gate keeper for the top 10. Always tough opponent. 1 and 1 against Whyte on my card. Separates the trash from diamonds. Good showing against Usyk. clear loss but made it hard for Usyk.

12. Ortiz.

I have never rated Ortiz as high as some others. Wilder needed lot of help to win the first fight. Jennings was at the time a solid win. Not much more for the old man.

13. Helenius

Kownacki was ranked pretty high on many lists before running head first at Helenius. Teper was pretty good win. Has shown against guys like Whyte and Chisora that he can hang with the top 10 guys. Was sick against Washington and really short preparation against Whyte. Much better than given credit for.

14. Kabayel.

Not much to say about him. Showed hes level against Chisora. Well see more when he fights Fury.

15. Joyce

Getting really thin at this point. Jennings, Ustinov and Stiverne are not that good wins but at least there is bit of volume of guys that are almost relevant.

Well that de escaleted quickly. Top 10 is actually kind of crowded. after that there is almost nothing
