Yeah - I think we’re still a way off too. It needs a really special fighter to change it. The UFC had it with Ronda Rousey who wasn’t just beating fighters but was demolishing them extremely quickly. That said, I think we’re some way off a women’s PPV headliner. There’s just nothing out there that would warrant it at the moment.
Women’s boxing needs more finishes to create more excitement. Moving to 3 minute rounds, particularly for world title fights, would help but they need someone to generate real excitement to take the sport to the next level. Taylor’s a good fighter and i usually enjoy watching her fights but she’s almost certainly going to go the distance. Potentially Caroline Dubois could be the one to change things over here.
