who am i thinking of?

Post by Steveh583 »

There was a prospect that was linked to kell brook when they both turned over, but he jacked it in very early. He was a traveller and I believe related to that paddy doherty bloke off the tele. Boxing Monthly (how I've missed that mag in lockdown lol) did an article where he was pictured jogging with loads of traveller kids. Its driving me crazy.

John O'Donnell was another good Traveller linked to Kell around 2009/10 when he was British champion.

Because he’s about 15st! Gets to all the bare knuckles with his ridiculously big family!

Doherty was a quality amateur but didn't live the life in the pros, changed trainers a lot but would never knuckle down while still thinking he was world class.
Therefore no one wanted to invest their time or money so he was on the sidelines and put on a huge amount of weight.

From memory he lost to a postman on the undercard of a Enzo maccarinelli bill then Brook took him out afterward in Scotland in the first round. I remember Brook fighting at the york hall and Doherty was in the ring afterwards. Doherty didn't live the life.
