Just seen the stoppage. Not seen anything else so perhaps I’m wrong but that was one of the softest stoppages I’ve ever seen, he wasn’t in much trouble.
Did something happen earlier? Brook was defending himself? Looked really soft. I’m no Brook fan either.
nah brook was done.
He didn’t look done at all. He was still defending himself when the ref jumped in. Not seen the rest of the fight but it looked a soft stoppage, was he hurt earlier?
I'm with you , awful stoppage at the time.
Wouldn't have changed the outcome of the fight tho and didn't see Brook complaining much either .
As expected that fight was a waste of time, nothing more than Crawford shedding ring rust. Brook is nowhere near Crawford's level and never has been at any stage of his career.
For those who thought it was an early or bad stoppage, please don't ever consider becoming a boxing referee
Tony Weeks gave Crawford 3-4 free shots for the first KD. After that it as sort of messy. Crawford hit shoulders and clipped the top of his head. But there can be no complaints from Brook. He walked onto a shot and didn't have the whereabouts to take a knee.
He'd marked Crawford up and it looked like we were in for a good fight. Well done to Crawford.
Obviously everyone wants the easy money Pac fight. But after that it has to be Crawford-Spence.
Obviously the Spence clash is one the boxing fans deserve to see, but as a long as boxers continue to sign for Al Haymon/PBC, the fans will continue to be deprived of the best fights.
Haymon/PBS deliver some good fights, but not the 'best' fights and they do a massive disservice to the boxing fans as a result of this
It was pretty disturbing to see Brook put on queer street so easily, I never thought he had the best chin in the world, but he always looked pretty solid and took a load of much harder shots from GGG and Spence. Think it’s fair to say his chin has been cracked and it’s time to hang up the gloves. And if he doesn’t want to retire, he needs to drop down a good few levels to compete.

Think his contract with Top Rank is up in about a year, wouldn’t be suprised to see him head over to Haymon then

Brook is reportedly getting 2 million. If dom Ingle had called him up and said just pay me 50k I wonder if he'd be working the corner tonight. Instead he's banging on about not getting 200k. I think that's ridiculous.
Have you a link to Dom asking for 200k or are you making it up?
His youtube interview is basically giving out about fighters moving on when they make big purses.
When I was getting 10 per cent of £1,000, £2000, £3000 purses you’re putting in all the hard work then, you’re building a base and you’re putting in time and effort and hours for the pay-off later on down the line. When they become world champions and they don’t appreciate what they’ve got, it’s disappointing. I’ve been with Kell 23 years, since he was 10.
He mentions the 10% figure. Brook is getting 2 million from what I've read. Ingle seems a bit aggrieved, saying he's not even watching the fight. So im assuming he would have expected 200k. Now correct me if im wrong because I may not have got it right.
And look im not saying a good corner isn't a huge help. Dom probably saved his career with the GGG pullout and he took a lot of stick for pulling him out. 200k just seems way too much for me.
There is zero evidence on youtube of this interview ever happening.

He did say the above. Maybe not a video, but an article, on Boxing Scene as well.
Excellent stoppage seeing the clip - absolutely called it spot on. Could have easily stopped it after the 8 count, Brook was done and shell shocked from that absolute peach of a shot (he wasn't always looking at the ref during the 8 count) . Thought it was though fair to give him another chance and clearly he hadn't recovered.

Thanks.
The article mentions getting 10% of purses of £1,000, £2,000 and £3,000 (after 9 years of unpaid work). The poster is just making assumptions on this fight.
There was once a court case when Billy Graham didn't receive £1m for a fight.

The first Shot that rocked Kell back reminded me of the shot Evander Holyfield hit Tyson with in the first fight, that rocked him back in a similar way.
That shot was great. Almost like a short right hand but from a southpaw lead. Sad times for Kell he looked sharp early on. The thing what stood out to me was how much Bud had filled out at welter, he looked about the same size as Brook and certainly punched like it.
Have a bad feeling Spence will never be the same but if he is and he deals with Garcia, then surely Crawford vs Spence has classic written all over it

If Dom thought that much about Kell's "career" he would of told him not to go near the GGG fight,if that fight didnt happen who knows how the Spence fight would of went but Dom didnt care about Kell's career so lets get that out in open,he was counting the pounds whilst kell was training for GGG.
Brook looked sharp for the first couple rounds, very quick indeed. But the inevitable happened. Crawford is excellent and fought a Very well conditioned but broken Brook.
I’m sure his family will want him to hang em up, but the carrot of Khan May make him have another.

Brook mentioned the fact that U.K. coaches are so far behind the USA coaches. Maybe a separate thread worthy topic this, but any opinions?
Definitely. Earlier in his career Brook would've benefited from training/sparring in America.
