The Golovkin fight really was bad business in every which way. For Brook to move up 2 weight classes to fight one of the biggest punchers the middleweight division has ever seen ruined him, really bizarre matchmaking.

There wasn't much in that shot that rocked him in the 4th, it was a sort of half-jab half-hook and sent Brook sprawling like a man that just had his weak spot discovered.

I hope Brook retires, had a good career but tbh, it could've been alot better, he's the best welterweight the UK has had in a while imo.

Khan and even Hatton were more 140 weren’t they?

Well Khan even more than Hatton.

Pretty sure Hatton only ever won one fight at Welterweight against Collazo.

Pauli Mali and N’dlovu at 147 as well? After FMJ loss?

Malignaggi was at 140 and he didn’t fight Ndou/N’dlovu.

Agreed hope he gets to prove it against Spence.
The problem is, I feel like any win against Spence now for Crawford, is going to have an asterisk next to it, because of the car accident. Who knows if he is or will ever be the same fighter again after such a serious accident like that.
The Garcia fight should help remove the asterisk. If he looks good in this fight, it removes it for me.

Boxing's matchmaking sucks, expect to see Crawford vs Spence around 2003, or never at all.
Yeah good point. How he looks in that fight will be key.

It's a tough one though because having an accident of that severity is never going to leave you physically superior to how you once were, and likely wont even leave you as you were. It's most likely going to leave you worse off, and I feel like Spence and Crawford were very closely matched before the accident, so even the smallest amount of deterioration in Spence could be determine the fight in my opinion, or at least leave question marks.

Oh I think Mali fought him on the Hatton-Collazo undercard. When they cut his hair,

That's how I saw it, Brook had enough, and was saved a humiliating knockout. Not sure he has ever been on Crawford's level mind.
Personally I think that Brook was good enough to be very competitive with Crawford like 3/4 years ago. Even in the early stages of this fight he was having some success. His punch resistance has abandoned him though and thats something he did possess in the past, a good chin.

Perfect stoppage no doubt about that, brilliant from the unbeatable Bud as usual, but Kel looked like his punch resistance had gone, surely he wouldn’t have been taken out by a hard jab like that in his heyday, even by the mercurial Bud Crawford.

Great fight with the young Aussie Vegas earlier, the type of easy to make match up undercard clash that Matchroom could learn a lesson from.

He stepped up cause Eubank jnr banged on about fighting GGG then when matchroom got GGG to sign the contract to fight CE JNR him and his dad Shìt their kecks and back peddled out the room which left Eddie Hearn looking a right tìt so he offered it to Kell who dared to dream,Dom shoukd of been the voice of reason and said NO.

He stepped up for an opportunity, I don't see how it ruined him. He looked good against Spence. He's run into 3 of the best fighters of his era. Last night he met the best.

True. You could look at it that way aswell. Crawford is a great fighter. I just think that a prime Brook was on a similar level to Terence even though I would still pick him to lose.

Nothing has changed IMO. Brook would have always got battered against the world's best and will always beat the over matched boxers he's beaten and will still beat. Porter was the exception to the rule, and Porter was awful that night and improved since.

Brook beats your Dans, Gavins, Biziers etc

Brook loses to your Thurmans, Garcias, Pacquiaos

Agree .
It's hardly shameful is it , lost to elite fighters , so it's no big deal really .

I've always liked Brook. It's always amused me being on the other side of the pond how some of my favorite Brits, froch is one of my favorite period, aren't beloved there.
