Hector Camacho: How great could have he been?:
This guy was a complete fighter. He can box, he could hit, was very smart, great ring generalship, had some good footwork, fast hands and could take a big shot.
What really happened to this Puerto Rican marvel that could have been the greatest fighter of that nation?
What went wrong?

What happen to him was Edwin “Chapo” Rosario. Look at his fights pre-Rosario and you see a super fighter, but look at his fights after the Rosario fight and you see a completely different fighter. I have never forgotten the expression on his face when Rosario hurt him. After that fight he became a way to defensive fighter and not as exciting as he was supposed to be. I was rooting for Camacho because I thought he was going to be a super star and I was betting my lunch money $5 on Camacho but at the end of the fight I was so disappointed. Even though he got the decision but in the process he lost the respect of most Puertorriqueños. He never wanted to give Rosario a rematch.elmersalsa wrote:This guy was a complete fighter. Question....if Tantum posts those pics in this forum again....would people get upset if I go into "mad editor" mode? Gettin tired of seein them being posted over and over....just so Tantum can have a place where he can admire them without getting caught by his g/f or b/f.....not that there's anything wrong with that.

Well that is your opinion. Now either you didn't see any of his fights previously to Rosario or you just don't know anything about Camacho. Again you think you are the bible of boxing and I know that I’m not an expert on many fighters but when it comes to the fighters that I have seen fight many times I think I’m entitle to an opinion. If you see his fights against Rafael Limon, Rafael Solis and Jose Luis Ramirez that for me that was a picture perfect boxing. Speed, Movement, counter punching and beautiful ring generalship and you see him after the Rosario fight and what you will see is a runner rather than a fighter. When it comes to fighters that I did follow their career closely I’m sure I can make a reasonable opinion. And IMO Camacho was not the same fighter after that fight. Now if you are sick please go to the doctor or take and aspirin and chill out.Decagon wrote:I'm so sick of everyone blaming Rosario for Camacho starting to suck. Camacho was fairly defensive-minded before the Rosario fight, too, and he wasn't that great.borinken25 wrote:What happen to him was Edwin “Chapo” Rosario. That's why he was special. He was an unbelievable boxer when he wasn't scared to take a hit. Could easily have been the best.elmersalsa wrote:This guy was a complete fighter.
